Guys most of these MSI threads confuse me

I see two things for most of the topics and I will explain my confusion

  1. SKT is good and/or will beat a team. This is simply obvious, watching the tourney it currently looks like SKT>Eu=Na=LMS=LPL=Wildcard. We all know skt is favored in there games if you want to make predictions maybe do one that requires skill. My mom does not watch LOL and knows about faker and/or SKT (he was on Ellen one apparently).
  2. TSM are scrubs and/or send C9

This MSI was literally at a 5 team tie for last place at the end of the first robin. G2 aside from 1 game have looked like shit, TSM have looked like shit, Flashwolfs( the predicted number 2 which makes this a bigger deal in my opinion) have looked like shit, china has looked bad excluding one game, giga byte marines have also looked bad( but far better than expected). This is not becuase these teams are bad, becuase remember they all won there region; it is becuase they are all pretty equal in skill level it seems.

TSM currently is 1 game win away from 2nd place so how about waiting till either a) they have not gotten into the top 4 b) far behind other teams I will be honest I did not see TSM being tied with flash wolfs and the wildcard after day 3, and that they were one game win behind G2 and WE who are tied for second. I saw them as most likely 5th place or maybe 4th. But currently there is no real 2nd-6th place, there is only SKT and others. Until there is destination between the teams do not judge TSM just because you are salty.

In short all MSI has shown is the gap between all the regions have closed, except form Korea which could be even larger than before.

Let's be completely honest about SKT. They are the Korean all-star team. Every position they have the best or second best player in Korea. I bet every other region, if they had their best players on one team, could easily compete with SKT.

As for TSM, they will never win worlds. They don't build their team and practice to do it. All they do every year is to only prepare to win NA.

Starting from the bottom, I don't think it's even a Korea gap more than it is just a pure SKT gap. Should even the other top teams like KT or SSG had pulled the miracle run to qualify, there would have been more to analyze around how to stop them or even just a game or two on stage plus scrims; similar to how Flash Wolves has suffered by the "bully MMD/bot lane" strat given their all around dominance in their region. Nobody should be wrong to rate them highly. But fans more than often overgeneralize or exaggerate points in which they've claimed to have watched, especially involving Korea.

Back to the confusion aspect, usually the boards blow up whenever it involves TSM and to another extent SKT. I went on about it on another post yesterday. It honestly follows that rather pessimistic hivemind that Reddit and sometimes Twitter produces for itself where no mass of fandom (particularly in NA) is ever happy even if it's winning. Last year it was somewhat along the lines of "Thanks for the pool 1 seed for TSM, nerds! Now you can feed yourselves to SKT." Very few people are authentically patient; it's like minute for minute outburst but that's where communicative groups come into play...if those aren't also riddled with hysteria.

As for the MSI in general, yeah nobody looks as if they are playing at the level expected of them bar SKT and GAM of all teams. In that tense, the group stage should only be taken with a grain of salt (and not that salt) as the knockout stage could bring out the team potential that's known; especially among G2 and TSM - both rather series adaptation style teams.

I've still got my fingers crossed for the TSM surprise reverse sweep in the finals :^)
