DRIVE: Behind the scenes with GBM

The backdrop for our story was the Secret Library in Riot Games HQ, found in a Narnia-like hidden closet in the Frejlord. GBM seems at home amongst the leather seats and wooden furniture that you might find in a James Bond villain's lair.

GBM's early years in LCK has continued to shape his career as years go by. The physical wall that kept him from achieving victory morphed into the metaphorical one that has kept him from a championship. The further he moves away from the CJ Entus pedigree, the closer he comes to getting over the wall.

Who doesn't love some Korean BBQ? Impact and other NRG teammates are always willing to tag along with GBM to sate his addiction to escape rooms, or just grab some food in Koreatown.

It's easy to smile when GBM's around. Even though he's a fierce competitor, he's very down to earth and a joy to talk to. He had a lot of the production crew holding their sides from laughter while filming. It's that energy that he loves to bring to his LCS fans.

This is GBM in his element. NRG started as an NA LCS favorite, but some struggles against some of the elite teams have added pressure. But GBM isn't letting that get him down. As he says, a leader must set an example for his team.

Ah yes, the Dr. Who of the NA LCS. GBM's famous bow tie collection is an ode to his love of Doctor Who, once portrayed by Matt Smith. Fun fact: his sister gifted him his first bow tie. I bet she didn't think it would become such a core part of his style.
