As 2016 draws to a close, it’s about time to turn up the heat as we get ready to dodge snowballs with IWCA and ASE. Our English language team will be onsite throughout both events in Barcelona to cover all the action as it happens.

I'm glad he's not there. He's Riots worst pbp and host. Reddit has better game knowledge than he does. When he tries to talk analysis; I cringe. He failed so badly at hype at worlds. I was wishing we had that black guy from Summer Finals (no clue what his name was).

You're too hard on Riv. Sure his analysis isn't good, but that's not his job - he's pbp, not colour! And the guy's energy is through the roof - he knows how to wake up people (sometimes including his co-casters!) and hype things, he's friends with the camera, and I can't imagine him being negative or depressed. Even though I'm a quiet introvert, seeing Riv on-screen makes me feel good, and that's a big quality for a caster and host to have. Compare with Jatt, whose analysis and game sense are stellar and IMHO have no equal in the NA team, but who always looks a bit uncomfortable on air and couldn't warm an audience if he had a giant microwave oven. I think you need a bit of both in a caster team.

Except he is still their worst pbp and hype guy.

He's bad at his role and cannot make up with it with any knowledge.. Why do you think he wasn't used much at worlds?

Um.. no he doesn't. His hype is so bad they usually use a 3rd party for events..if he's such a great caster why wasn't on during important games at worlds?

saying riv isn't any good because of his lack on knowledge, is like saying Michael buffer isn't any good cause he cant box... after like 7 0r 8 years of league (I honestly forgot how long ive been playing) I still think riv is one of the most entertaining people to watch. he could at least do interviews or be a co host. jatt is easily the most knowledgeable, clear speaking, and accurate in the things he says...so just pair him with riv and he can compensate.

Except Michael Buffer is actually good at hyping. He's literally known as the best announcer with a worldwide trademark... Buffer doesn't comment on matches like Riv does so judging on Riv's knowledge is relevant. Also, being able to do something is a different skill than knowing about it.

They don't need a co-host considering they need people with knowledge to fill up the desk.

I won't argue against him interviewing people except it's bad business to keep him for that alone, considering that the LCS is ran at a loss. You can get people who are knowledgeable and can fill that role as well.
