My suggestion on how to make proview a more appealing service.
Hi there! First off I want to say I am a huge fan of the game and the esports shows. I've been playing league for nearly a decade and watching the broadcasts since before the LCS was even formed; you all have done a great job at putting on a great show all over the world. Even was lucky enough to watch the LCS Playoffs here in Vancouver :)
I have a suggestion to make proview a subscription service that is more appealing for fans like myself; who may be looking for an upgraded viewing experience but are not particularly interested in studying pro play from a professional players perspective (sorry for the wall of text I think the image sums it up pretty well also.): I think that the idea of a premium viewing method of watching pro league of legends is a fantastic idea, and the current proview model is a good start. I would like to see this program grow and become very successful. I have read from league news sources that proview may not be as popular as you may have hoped, long term. We won't know for sure until we see how many viewers continue to buy it; but I had some ideas on how to make this service even better, so much better that people will not want to watch it any other way! ;) I have attached a screenshot of a rough photoshop I have done, illustrating one way I envision proview being awesome. Taking elements that were just introduced with proview and adding some new ones. This idea starts with the view of the game itself. We have seen some crazy camera work done by the team during LCS games that shows us league of legends from perspectives we as players do not have access too. I remember years ago a redditor had entered a microsoft contest to develop a better viewing perspective of league matches, but never heard much of it after that. I think it would be totally worth the money to watch LCS from a superior viewing perspective such as the one included in my photoshop, where viewers clouds have a better visual of the map in its entirety and watch as the players navigate the map strategically. I feel the current camera work at LCS misses the mark on this element even tho the camera directing staff do as good a job as possible chasing the action with the camera. This better map view would make the feature of allowing proview users to toggle between global vision, or team/player vision with fog even better. I would like it if on the proview screen we could view all the player cams at ones, even if they are small, during play, from both teams! Seeing how some plays such as Bwipo or Zven show a lot of expesion while others like Bjerg are cool calm and collected would be super interesting to observe during a match and fights. Another suggestion would be a CASTER CAM! We know it's there as we have all seen the epic clips of casters such as Captain Flowers going all out during a fight! Or how casters like Phreak and Jatt always seem to be having a good time making jokes during the more slow paced portions of the game. Just give us the cam at all times! :) I think that summarizes my suggestions on making proview a more appealing product for the long term. I personally would happily throw my money at a viewing experience like this; per split, per month, or per season; perhaps with packages that cover multiple regions or teams.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and consider these suggestions! Hope you all have a great day and keep up the great work you are doing on the game and production surrounding it. [sg-kiko]
