Which teams are competing in the 2016 World Championship?

Same here on the CLG thing, I mean Immortals seemed so much better even if C9 kept messing them up, except on match3...

Immortals seem to have a lot of tilt to them when it comes to playoff matches. Smart teams have figured out that Huni is their key and you cannot let him and Reignover dictate the top lane. Immortals is better than CLG at the current moment but I think CLG could regain their form with a good bootcamp. I don't know if Immortals can get over the hump that keeps them from post-season success. All the teams at worlds will be smart enough like TSM and C9 to realize that if you play smartly around the Huni+Reignover duo and take the rest of the map then you can beat them.

Don't take this as me insulting Immortals, but when you look at Immortals play, they're a lot like a schoolyard bully.

They're no less strong of a team than C9, their players are skilled, but they seem to just fold whenever they're challenged. They make any team that is even the slightest bit weaker than them look like an absolute joke. Just straight up... if Immortals is a 6 in terms of team strength(just to throw out a number), any 5 or under will look like they're the worst team ever when matched against them. But against a 6 or higher, Immortals just doesn't seem to know what to do and they look really really bad.

Because of this, I really don't think Immortals would do well at a championship like Worlds... they're a fun team to watch in a regional season because they have such exciting, one-sided games against the weaker teams... but I can't help but feel they'd do really bad at Worlds.

No they did really well in season 4 actually. That was probably the best team they have ever had (except for maybe this one).

C9 still make a few too many head-scratching macro decisions in-game. I don't think they can beat the machine that is TSM right now. But Impact is a beast at holding his own even under pressure (he should have been the all-LCS top laner over Huni) and Jensen and Sneaky have immaculate team fights. If they can first qualify for worlds and then figure out their macro over in Korea they have a chance to make some noise.

Unfortunately, that's a bit of pre-history, and neither NA nor EU has been all that relevant since, though I think FNC got to semis last year? Then their talent left and it's been painful to watch the EU ever since.

I guess I won't really know until Worlds how anyone stacks up globally, so C9 might have some chance of going to quarters or semis, even if I'd put it somewhere like 40-50% out of groups and 10-20% total chance to get to semis.

I did get the feeling that TSM were strong favorites at NA going into the finals. It worked out that way too, but even a small amount of taking the finals for granted would've been all of the difference. This split, the difference between TSM and C9 hasn't been huge, but it has been consistent, and that's how you close out a 3-0 or 3-1.

3rd is 4th and 4th is 3rd but doesn't make a difference.

Yeah I was being very facetious and not having maturity to my comment. ROX are my pick to win the whole thing. A year ago they were the 2nd best team and for the past year Spring-Summer they have been getting better and better. Rox in my opinion are 2x better than what SKT was when they won the Finals Last year.

EDG are my second place team.

RNG/SSG I'm not sold on them nor do I think they will do "Great" at Worlds will they win groups or at least get out I think RNG will but NOT SSG their positioning in fights is really bad and so was KT's when they faced in the final round so hard to see which was worse.

While TSM is the BEST NA TEAM EVER to possibly play at Worlds with the skill and hype and talent I don't see them making it far maybe getting 2nd place in groups with a tie-breaker most likely but an early elimination in the first round.
