Tournaments Prizes Changing on Jan 1 for the Worst?

I understand that Riot wants to stop tournaments abusing the 8 team system- however these new tournament changes make it more unlikely for people to even sign up to participate in tournaments. I know that I myself play in the tournaments instead of ranking or playing with friends because the RP rewards are great, and now it doesn't even seem worth it. Also the TS tournament I play in barely has enough people for an 8 team tournament- and if people font show up because its not worth it, then the tournaments may be discontinued. I am not sure what Riot plans to do with this system- but for my I am against this as a player. I will still from time to time play in these tournaments- but now longer will it be a daily ritual for me.
