With Cloud9 crowned champions of IEM San Jose, it's almost time for six more League of Legends teams to compete at IEM Cologne. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming event.

Who's Playing at IEM Cologne?

The six League of Legends teams competing at IEM Cologne include a mix of EU and NA LCS squads, in addition to a Russian team and a Turkish team who advanced through qualifier tournaments. The competitors are:
  • Team Roccat (EU)
  • Gambit Gaming (EU)
  • Team Dignitas (NA)
  • Counter Logic Gaming (NA)
  • Dolphins of Wall Street (CIS)
  • Aces Full (TUR)
IEM Cologne is also hosting the LCS EU Expansion Tournament. You can find much more information on the Expansion Tournament here. The remaining teams competing in the EU LCS Expansion tournament at IEM Cologne are:
  • Giants Gaming
  • Reason Gaming
  • H2k Gaming
  • n!faculty

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

The IEM Cologne bracket is simple thanks to the limited number of teams competing. Counter Logic Gaming and Gambit both earned byes into the semifinals based on past performances. The first two rounds will be played in a Best of 3 format, while the finals will be a Best of 5 series to determine the IEM Cologne champions. The LCS EU Expansion Tournament matches will all be played in a Best of 5 format.

What's on the line?

The IEM Cologne prize pool is $30,000. The prize breakdown is as follows:
  • 1st: $12,500/€ 10,070
  • 2nd: $6,500/€ 5,236
  • 3rd/4th: $ 3,500/€ 2,819
  • 5th/6th: $ 2,000/€ 1,611
The two teams to emerge from the EU LCS Expansion Tournament will secure a spot in the 2015 EU LCS Spring Split.

What is the schedule?

IEM Cologne is December 18-21 at the ESL Studios in Cologne. The four-day schedule for both events is as follows: Thursday - December 18th 13:00 to 18:00 CET - LCS EU expansion match #1 (BO5) 18:00 to 23:00 CET - LCS EU expansion match #2 (BO5) Friday December 19th 13:00 to 18:00 CET - LCS EU expansion elimination match (BO5) 18:00 to 21:00 CET - Intel Extreme Masters Cologne quarterfinal #1 (BO3) 21:00 to 0:00 CET - Intel Extreme Masters Cologne quarterfinal #2 (BO3) Saturday - December 20th 13:00 to 18:00 CET - LCS EU expansion winners match (BO5) 18:00 to 21:00 CET - Intel Extreme Masters Cologne semifinal #1 (BO3) 21:00 to 0:00 CET - Intel Extreme Masters Cologne semifinal #2 (BO3) Sunday - December 21st 13:00 to 18:00 CET - LCS EU expansion decider match (BO5) 18:00 to 23:00 CET - Intel Extreme Masters Cologne final (BO5)
