Final Battle for the Cup
It’s the final countdown to the conclusion of the 2016 World Championship.
After several weeks of competitive play, it’s time for the top two teams to face-off for the Summoner’s Cup and the World Championship title at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. Here’s everything you need to know heading into Finals on Saturday, October 29:

What is Finals? Why does it matter?
It all comes down to this. At Finals, one team will win the ultimate competition of League of Legends mastery to hoist the coveted Summoner’s Cup and become world champions. The winning team will leave their mark inside League of Legends with their own version of the championship skins and take home a percentage from the growing prize pool.

The Knockout Stage took us to Quarterfinals in Chicago, Semifinals in New York, and it concludes with Finals at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA on October 29.

To commemorate and set the stage for Finals, we’ll be hosting an epic celebration on Friday, October 28-Saturday, October 29 and it all will be streamed on the LoL client and Lolesports.com

On October 28, we’ll kick things off on the eve of Finals with the League Festival at Worlds. Here’s the show line-up starting at 6 PM PT:
- PrimeTime League Live with your favorite hosts to begin the show
- The All-Mid All Star Deathmatch, featuring Voyboy, Jessica Nigri, Nicki Taylor, Reckful, Jimmy Wong, Spiral Cats, & more…
- Champions Live: A Cosplay Celebration, hosted by /AllChat hosts Jessica Nigri and Jimmy Wong, as well as Riot artist Shannon “RiotPhoenix” Berke, and featuring more than 20 League cosplayers from around the world.
- A special edition of Worlds Tonight, in which a panel of shoutcasters and analysts will give their take on the road to Finals and the championship match-up for the Summoner's Cup.
- We’ll cap the night off in epic fashion with the Music of League of Legends Live Concert. A wide variety of artists backed by the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra will take both attendees and viewers on a tour through the many genres of League music, including champion and faction themes, music videos, and esports favorites.

On the day of Finals, we’ll have World Championship pre-game coverage featuring interviews, analysis, and predictions from 2:30-4:00 PM PT. Starting at 4:00 PM PT on Oct 29, we’ll kickoff Finals with an Opening Ceremony featuring a live performance of Ignite by Zedd. Games will begin at ~4:30 PM PT.
