Team Liquid is one of the best known names in esports, established to cover StarCraft almost 15 years ago by Victor “Nazgul” Goossens. Since then, the company has grown. They’ve picked up teams and players in
Hearthstone,
StarCraft 2,
Dota 2,
Super Smash Brothers, and have now joined forces with the team previously known as Curse to break into
League of Legends.
Team Liquid will be retaining the same roster as they did under the Curse banner, as well as much of the same support staff, including Steve "LiQuiD112" Arhancet as the co-owner of the team.
Team Liquid also will be picking up Curse’s players in other games titles and acquiring the gaming team sponsors. To backup their commitment, Team Liquid has launched a new League of Legends content website,
Liquid Legends.

Team Liquid will be fielding a roster with two new players from Korea, including World Champion Gwang-jin “Piglet” Chae as their AD carry. Their most recent acquisition, Jae-hoon “FeniX” Kim, replaces Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani in the mid lane. He previously played for the Jin Air Green Wings Falcons. Though these players have previously been announced for the team, it’s unclear how they will mesh with the existing lineup.
Team Liquid has a long history as an established esports organization, and their merger with the Curse team opens a lot of opportunities on both sides. This change could potentially translate into a change of fates in LCS, as they have long had the
curse of placing fourth in Playoffs.
