Better nerf... Poppy?! and other moments from the EU LCS Promotion Series

The promotion tournament always features some of the hypest plays and games in the LCS by far. Unorthodox picks, dangerous but (sometimes) successful plays, and upsets galore were all too common over the course of the Promotion Tournament. If your favorite team didn’t make it in - fear not! There’s still an Expansion Tournament coming up that will allow TWO more teams into the LCS! Copenhagen Wolves faced off against the highest scoring challenger team H2K Gaming. The Wolves showed that their pack is not easily thwarted, as they easily swept the series against H2K Gaming. Then, the fallen titans Gambit vs. SK Gaming Prime. After a bit of a struggle, Gambit managed to show a bit of life after their traumatic LCS season and managed to keep their LCS spot in a 3-1 set. And then there was Millenium vs. Unicorns of Love in a heartfelt battle to the death (of their LCS careers). The Unicorns managed to pull out some very strange picks and new strategies that ended up thwarting whatever Millenium could pull out. The Unicorns will be taking over Millennium's spot after a hard fought 3-2 victory. With the results out of the way, here’s a look at the top moments from the Promotion Tournament!

Copenhagen Wolves vs. H2K Gaming - The Little Yasuo that Could

Baiting an entire team to come to your lane solely because of your lane pressure is a pretty good feat, but baiting an entire team while picking up a kill -- while your team takes the entire front line of turrets? That’s amazing. Soren showed off his fancy footwork by taking out Hjarnan with a slick ultimate in a 1v4 situation while his team absolutely steam rolled through turrets in the other lanes.

Gambit vs. SK Gaming Prime - The Turnaround

Everyone’s had a dive go poorly, but amazing plays come out of the rubble when the defenders become too greedy afterwards. Zyzz knew this when he was fleeing from the dive turned disaster and, along with Watdefox, flipped the tables on the greedy Krislund and Diamond to save the dive with stellar positioning and kiting!

Millenium vs. Unicorns of Love - The Terror of Poppy

Millenium might need to keep the light on when they sleep, as Poppy is back and ready for some hammer diplomacy. The unkillable late game god, Vizicsacsi’s Poppy bullied Mundo and the rest of the Millenium throughout the entire game with the raw power of her Devastating Blow (which has 4 sources of damage!). Be prepared, Poppies will haunt your solo queue games for months to come!

I don't normally watch LCS videos or like game commentators at all, and I only watched the Poppy video here, but I actually enjoyed the game, and the commentary. The two guys did good.

Wow i just started playing poppy anod because some LCS player uses her and does well she's potentially gonna get nerfed? fuck all yall.. no one even uses her anyways and her lane phase is terrible so there's no point to nerf her because a pro player played her well
