I asked Meteos about this on stream last season, and he pretty bluntly said she isn't played because her ult cooldown is "like an hour", and that she has to be balanced around her ult for solo Q play (HAHA REMEMBER SOLO Q?????).
Thoughts on his remarks, or other ideas why she isn't played professionally?
I think he's right on the money. All the top tier pro junglers are junglers who are pretty much able to fight whenever. Vi CAN ONLY fight when she has her ult.
Meteos is right. Her ult is pretty much the only good and reliable thing about her, and that has to have a really long cooldown or she's OP.

vi wins most, if not every matchup, if she lands her q. But, how can you land your q when all the champs have alot of escapes and flashes?? hard to do that:)..She is punished very hard if she missed her Q:).

She was seeing pro play when Cinderhulk was OP. She's an all-in champ though and I've noticed a trend of most pros liking champs with some kind of reliable escape or a way to delay death for a while if they do go all-in. So that's why you see

for example. We are seeing a new roster of champs being played so far though so that's exciting.
shes easy to counter if you know how to dodge her Q
I'm sure once NA sees Korea play VI they will hope right on that Bandwagon and think they are the next faker only to find out that the Korean scene has already found a new meta.
Because brawl heavy fighters aren't meta right now.
