Player Experience Streams for Worlds 2016

The 2016 League of Legends World Championship is about to get underway!

When the world’s best players meet on Summoner’s Rift starting Sept. 29 at 4 PM PT, there will be so much happening that we want to offer you even more ways to watch.

That’s why there will be an alternate stream accompanying the regular broadcast this year, focusing on a different aspect of each game. Casters and analysts will zone in on one player or lane matchup for each game of the Group Stage, offering new perspectives on pro play.

In addition to the usual focuses on lanes and matchups, there will be a new Player Experience Stream type for Worlds this year: the Fog of War stream. This stream will limit viewers’ vision of the map so that they can only see the perspective of one specific team during a game. The first Fog of War stream will take place on Day 2 and features Splyce’s point of view.

Day 1

Day 4

The Day 4 schedule has been changed. The Player Experience Stream for AHQ vs. ITZ will instead focus on the top lane matchup between Ziv and Yang.

Will there be VoDs of these alternate streams on the LoL Esports youtube page or another similar source for those of us who would love to watch the same game from multiple perspectives? During the regular LCS season I had to watch most of the NA and EU games from the lolesports VODS page instead of the live broadcast due to other obligations, and I wasn't easily able to find videos from the alt stream when they started with the concept so I'd love to be able to check it out in hindsight after the Worlds games happen live.

Same here. I'd love to watch some of these focused streams, but I doubt I'll be able to see it live.

I think pages like loleventvods have all the alternate streams saved if lolesports doesn't save them.

I love going back and watching this alt streams, especially the jungle ones (as a jungle main). Learn so much more about playing the game when you're following one position all game long and you have another pro/ex-pro breaking it down.

I wish you could re-watch every vod in "sandbox" mode where you can watch whatever part of the map you want. That would be the dream to breakdown games.

I've been going to loleventvods for the alternate streams, but I (and assume many others) would love to have an alternate stream choice in games right on the vods page... possibly right under regular stream.

Ya, same. If I'm going to watch live I want to watch the 'full game' experience. But there are certain alt streams that I'd LOVE to go back and watch after the fact.

I totally agree especially when one of the two is May vs CLG and honestly I'd rather watch any other top laner's at worlds really. But at least I get a smeb stream

Well, at least kiwikid can now say he's "gone to worlds" and "been an integral part of a (broadcast) team there". Also says a lot about the NA region as a whole when 60% of their "guest commentators" are foreign imports.

That European voices sound better? You dont need to know much about the game to cast, I mean if they knew how and why the the players were doing most of what they were doing then they would be higher the diamonds/low master that they mostly are. Once you hit there its mostly game knowledge that lifts you higher.

Anyone having an issue with the Player Experience streams getting ahead of the main stream? The CLG Main stream was behind the support stream 4-5 seconds multiple times. I watching both side by side with audio on the main stream and I had to pause the support stream to allow the Main stream to catch up. I refreshed the main stream multiple times to make sure it was "Live". I was watching the youtube stream for both and it showed as live on the main stream at all times.
