Whew! What a week! Epic plays and unorthodox picks galore and when it was all over teams were sent packing while others defended their LCS positions. It’s not over for the losers though - they’ll be in the Expansion Tournament in the future to fill the two extra spots in LCS! CLG very nearly lost their LCS position after a close 3-2 match with Curse Academy. Coming off one of the biggest slides we’ve seen in professional League, CLG really needs to make some changes and snap out of it or they’re in trouble in the upcoming season. Then, we had EG finally step up and prove that they belong in the LCS. After a 3-0 victory over the new roster for Team Coast (sporting Korean challenger players Miracle and Ringer) they made the hype train fall flat on it’s face. And then there was CompLexity fighting their hardest to take out Team 8, a team heavily regarded as the top challenger team at the moment. Unfortunately for them, they lost in a desperate set 2-3. However, the addition of Team 8 to the LCS pool can only mean one thing - a ton of unorthodox picks and amazing team fights! Once the dust finally settled, we scoured the games to bring you guys the highlights of the best plays throughout the week!

CLG vs. Curse Academy Game 3 - BunnyFuFuu the Thresh God

Known far and wide for his Thresh, BunnyFuFuu ran a master class in Game 3 versus CLG. Not only did he catch Doublelift playing one of the more slippery AD carries in Tristana, he predicted where he’d be mid-rocket jump and hooked him back into the team to secure the kill. A truly impressive play from an impressive support!

Evil Geniuses vs. Team Coast Game 3 - Not Welcome ‘Round These Parts

It’s been harped on time and time again about visibility being key in the mid/late game and nothing proves it better than seeing a team get ambushed on the wrong side of the rift because they didn’t do a simple thing like dropping ward. EG jumps out of the bush onto an unsuspecting Coast to obliterate Miracle and eventually the entire team.

CompLexity vs. Team 8 Game 2 - Team 8’s Brawl Tactics

Team 8 in the LCS means a whole lot of trouble for the mid range teams. While they’re only decent at laning, their team fight prowess is among the top in the league. They can turn any fight around on it’s face and force the opponents into horrible positions like magic. To top it all off, they have some of the most unorthodox picks in the league, which will surprise even the highest tier teams and force them to think on the fly.
