DRIVE: Behind the scenes with Matt
Take a look at how DRIVE: The Matt Story was shot, and see how Hawaii was the perfect backdrop for his rise to the LCS.

To illustrate Matt's story, we went back to his home state of Hawaii and its stunning landscape. What do you do when you spend every day in paradise? Play video games of course! What else?

It's not that Matt didn't appreciate the beauty of his home, but when you live there, the luster wears off some. Hard work and determination became his mantra over time, and it's a good thing. He had a hard road to get here.

Matt had to struggle through triple-digit ping and single-digit FPS, but he still managed to get to Challenger. Quite the accomplishment!

Unlike the GBM story, Matt's parents didn't hide his PC cables. In general they were rather apathetic -- that is until they saw what a leader their son was becoming.

After that, Matt's dad encouraged his son's passion, and eventually found inspiration from him. And really that's what it's about. Everyone looks after each other. Ohana.

Even though Matt has dropped his 150ms ping and 8 FPS training weights, he still works hard. He has done his best to keep up with his Korean teammates, training 16 hours per day or more. Looks like it's starting to pay off.
