Power Rankings #6 -- Cloud9

Cloud9 Region: North America Top: Balls Jungle: Meteos Mid: Hai ADC: Sneaky Support: LemonNation If there’s one rock-solid squad in the LCS, it’s Cloud9. With a roster unchanged since their introduction to the league way back in spring of 2013, their success serves to prove the old adage: “Don’t fix what ain’t broken.” Since Cloud9’s inception, they’ve found success through unified team play and near-perfect shot calling from mid laner Hai "Hai" Du Lam. A true team, there isn’t a single standout star carrying games. As such, they don’t focus on getting one carry going. That doesn’t mean they don’t have any star potential on the team, however. Top laner An "Balls" Le is not only an extremely proficient mechanical player, his Rumble is feared the world over. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the Mechanized Menace has become a priority pick in recent months. Meanwhile, William "Meteos" Hartman holds down the jungle. One of the best farming-style junglers in the world, Meteos is known for his amazing ability to attain tons of gold from jungle monsters while keeping up pressure on his lanes. He might disappear for extended periods of time, but enemies are always fearful of his ganks. And once he reappears, you can bet he’ll have farmed up the items he needs. Way down south there’s the bottom lane duo of Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi and Daerek "LemonNation" Hart. Cloud9's bot lane has long been regarded as solid -- not standout, but certainly reliable. During the final months of the 2014 Season, however, Sneaky showed that he’s more than capable of being the carry his team needs in the late game. Finally, there’s Hai. The owner of an incredible strategic mind, he’s the preeminent shot-caller in the North American LCS. Sure, he might not win every lane, and his champion pool is limited to just a handful of burst mages and assassins, but his voice is the one you’ll hear when Cloud9 is making one of their patented rotations or Baron calls. With two North American split championships under their belt and a visit to the quarterfinals of the 2015 World Championship tournament, nothing -- besides, occasionally, TSM -- looks like it can slow down Cloud9. Who will be next on our Pre-Season Power Rankings? Check out the rest of the Power Rankings and stay tuned for more each day as we countdown to the start of the 2015 LCS Season. [Editor's note] Cloud9 has won two split championships, not three. That has been fixed.

I got to say I think Cloud 9 was probably the best team in NA and really showed what they could do at Worlds only narrowing losing out to Samsung Blue (which I feel they could have won) however I can only see them getting better both as individuals and as a team and simply put if you asked me if there's any team who could win Worlds 2015 outside of Korea and China then I would put my money firmly on Cloud 9.

God i love this article. Though the only thing i must say is that while it is understandable that he has had a small champ pool this past split it is really due to his injury between splits. If you look back to the 2014 Spring split he went on a 10 game streak of not playing the same champ. So looking forward towards the next split I doubt that his champ pool will be as small as it has been.

Might be abit overrated since i think Elements and C9 are pretty much equal, when Wickd has a good day and doesn't play Kayle. But based on IEM and Elements with roster swap, it's true C9 is better but it's quite a gap between the two teams when looking at this Article. But i guess everyone loves to think of C9 as -THE- western team. xD

I would love to see C9 get some more competition this year, last year they didn't have that much in NA except for TSM and maybe LMQ, if they get stronger opponents they might be able to improve even further and excel at next worlds and put the west back on the map

If you want my honest opinion like C9 is the team to prove their dominance again.. If they dominate the spring and actually place good at MSI or even win it and IEM Katowice! They could have a real shot of winning like worlds in my opinion people underestimate the importance of synergy and team play because they are blinded by talent.. But Cloud 9 is the beacon that proves that statement!

LMFAO...if Crap9 is 6...it really means there are no good teams in the world right now.

I am happy that they pick cloud 9 in the 6th position but i hope that they get that could do better this year

It's so cool seeing the same people all the time for once. It's almost impossible to find another team to root for and stick with it.

SexyTaylorSwift1/20/2015, 10:01:45 PM2 votes

I could probably beat them.

C9 best team xD Hai Was playing League of Legends in Hospital xD

Ziloh1/20/2015, 10:35:10 PM2 votes

Hai just needs to work on getting to know more champions and innovating new mid lane meta like he did with the soraka pick in the spring split, and lemon and sneaky need to work on their 2v2 lanes. then they will be a almost unbeatable team this coming season IMO.

TSM are gonna get there asses handed to them this year....Its laughable that so many of you say tsm > c9. When tsm beat c9 it took everything they had and they still barely won. They were even surprised when it was over. This year I will be surprised with the new teams in NA if tsm gets top 3..Watch

C9>a lot of other teams>TSM no comparison

TSM=BEST EVER

Why is team king higher than Cloud 9 lol they've yet impress in their performance in LPL and who knows how they will do internationally on the other hand, cloud 9 has improved over the years to become a team that even handles top Koreans like ssb. This power ranking really needs some revising
