Earlier today I was watching the DIG vs TSM matchup and one of the casters suggested that Shiptur use ahri, which was then immediately picked out by him.

Do you guys think this is fair if players can hear an outside opinions of the picks?

You're kinda messing up causality here. The casters suggested that Shiphtur use Ahri because Shiphtur is really famous for his Ahri and she's made a resurgence in recent weeks.
