National Tournament

I started to wonder if Riot is going to organise something like a national cup in future. It would be interesting to see the countries playing. What do you think about this kind of competition in League?

It shouldn't be Riot to organize that, some big third party organizer should step it up (with technical support provided by Riot,of course) and organize it in the period between the end of summer playoffs and Worlds involving also the LCS players that aren't going to Worlds

The only problem I see with that is that fact that you have players like Huni, Bjersen, so on so forth who are from other countries but they play in NA.

Yeah? So many doctors, engineers, and scientists in NA originate from different countries. Once in NA, they represent NA.

Nope, because it would be a diferent kind of competition from Worlds

Think like club competition and national competition in basketball or european football (soccer) .

There are the competitions for clubs like NBA, Euroleague, FIBA Americas League, etc... where teams composed by the best players they can assembre compete for a title

Then there are the national teams competition like continental cup, World Cup and Olympics

Someone like Bjergsen would represent a team in let's say FIBA Americas League and then that region in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup but would represent his home country Denmark in national teams competitions

They have it already. Its called WORLDS. Thats why specific areas are only allowed 3 teams.......wtf.

No he's saying more specific with Worlds you have teams that have players from all around the world but if you look at like TSM they have players from Denmark, Canada, and the U.S

Nope, it is not

Worlds is like FIFA Club World Cup, the best club teams from every region continental club tournament ( UEFA Champions League, Copa Libertadores, CONCACAF Champions League, etc...) compete for the Club World tournament. UEFA Champions League teams have players from all around the world, not only european ones

What the OP was suggesting was a competition for national teams like Fifa World Cup when teams comprised of players from a single nation compete in

Something like this, but much much better and bigger involving the pro players that aren't attending Worlds in the period between the end of regional playoffs/ gauntlets and Worlds would be nice, especially because it could help to solve the problem of lack of teams available to practice in the various regions which force everyone to going bootcamp in Korea

Doing a first selection with regional qualifiers for Americas, Europe and Asia ad then the Grand Finals in the same country where Worlds is being played
