Why do we ward?
In a 52-minute slog like the one between Gravity Gaming and Team Dignitas in Week 2 of the North American LCS, warding is key to victory. In fact, according to Gravity support player Michael "Bunny FuFuu" Kurylo, it’s one of the most important things.
“[Vision] is basically the objective. There’s Dragon, Baron, and vision control,” he told Lolesports after the match.
When asked how Gravity utilized warding to take down Dignitas, Bunny said they were focused on, “controlling the minions waves and setting up for the next rotation. You can deny their vision, and warding helps do that. Once you see a wave pushing, you can go into the fog and jump on it when they get to the tower. Just out-rotate them, basically.”
Of course, warding isn’t just important for grabbing towers. It can also lead to getting a bunch of kills. “It’s also helpful for picking people. You want to go in and get some deep wards and back out. Then, you can see them coming through your wards and you can pick them off.”
