First day of worlds play-in and I already had enough Xayah/Rakan for the whole championship. Of course it didn't took long till Kai'Sa showed up from the team whou couldn't pick Xayah/Rakan.
Is that all we will see in this worlds? I hope it evolves through the competition and we get to see other picks because I already had enough of the same champs in 9.18.
I have a feeling it will become more varied as Worlds goes on. Worlds is interesting in that we get these micro-metas within certain groups, like how Group A is playing around Rift Herald a lot more purely because Clutch does (even when Clutch wasn't in the game they were playing around it). We also typically don't see fresh picks until much later; bot players are pretty comfortable on Xayah and Kai'Sa since they were played so much during the regular season. Teams like to save their surprise picks until later, too.
We saw a bit of Tristana in various lanes, so I expect her to make many more appearances. Ezreal also had a good showing. Ashe was buffed and her utility plays great into certain comps, so we may be seeing her too. Not many ADC buffs on this patch but a few nerfs so this could tip the scales eventually and some less seen faces could resurface.
There's also been a handful of bot players playing mages in solo queue practice, so that's a real possibility. Heck, today we even saw Heimerdinger bot do very well.
Supports I'm not as sure. Hard to replace Rakan unless he's banned.
We've got to also see a Heimerdinger Morgana lane bot lane at least.
But I get what you're saying. It's annoying when you keep seeing the same champs over and over. While other roles seem to be getting more exciting with wider pools, the ADCs seem to be stuck on Xayah, Kai'sa, and Ez (when the other two are taken). Trist is being played, but in other lanes.

On a less troll note, if I remember correctly the only ADC to get any kind of buff was Ashe, and it seems like Ashe is still considered a pretty niche pick.
So no, I wouldn't expect to see any Marksmen besides the 3 already mentioned in the thread, although the amount of Mages we will see being picked in the Bot role is yet to be determined.
Edit: Caitlyn will probably make a few appearances as well.
They gave Xayah a decent nerf.. so maybe she will fall off. Kaisa was barely nerfed at all even though being super present.
I have a feeling there will be more shake ups in the group stages and the play ins will have as much creativity as there is prob going around in scrims.
Just kinda sucks in the games Karma was played there were HUGE kills and objectives missed because of the Q nerf being harsh while as Kaisa literally had a shoulder pinch of a nerf.
I would be so happy of there was no more kaisa over no more xayah/rakan bit I dont think any of them are fun to watch, even when they were fringe picks.
