Riot's broadcasting has gotten out of control. There is WAY TOO MUCH time being wasted on "analysis"

It's gotten as bad as pro sports pregame shows. They have FIVE analysts needlessly taking turns saying anything they can think of just to each be able to say something, then the commentators have nothing left to talk about during picks and bans so they're forced to say things like "We'll have to see who X picks" and "It will be interesting to see what they decide to do".

Put a five minute cap on the analysis and if you must show something to kill time just show live footage of corn growing. It's just as exciting as the analysis but it doesn't kill my enthusiasm for the game

The analysis segment is so long because they have to set up for the next game. It's not like Riot hates their player base... Beside plenty of people enjoy the analyst desk segments.

The analysis segment is for taking up the time between games, players get 15minutes in a series to plan out for next game most analysis segments are less and they also talk about replays and stuffs you may have missed and when sometimes teams aren't ready they do do other things like show audience and stuff, they aren't just gonna shut down the broadcast or put the camera to a wall for 15minutes, perhaps they could do a different kinda segment but I personally do enjoy the analysis desk and the idea thinking stuff

Also its only like 5-10 minutes most of the time so jeez....

Maybe they should broadcast a live Bronze game and give them something to talk about while they wait for the next game to get started? I'd love to hear some commenting on a bronze game, I'm sure I'd be bound to have a good few laughs.

i use the analysis segments to afk to make food, use the restroom, etc. cus 3 mins inbetween isn't long enough.

I often like what they have to say and usually it's very relevant (like the Nunu pick discussion), but I do agree that it's over the top sometimes, and they run out of things to say and just say stuff over and over again. In my opinion it's the gaps in organization of these events in terms of casting, because they don't prepare them for the long breaks (which may not happen, but when they do, it's awkward for everyone). I've seen them trying to analyze the game, it doesn't work, talk about something completely else, doesn't work. Only sometimes if they're discussing group placements and possibilities, but that's not always available for discussion.

In my opinion they haven't exhausted all the options. Turning to the crowd and memes and 'Deficio is vampire' always works, so why not do that. I think it's just reacting in pinch and not doing it well enough that they owe those awkward situations to, and not reading the crowd and the mood very much so they can't use that fully to hype things up.

tl;dr: Riot casting is mostly on top of their job so we know you can do it. Think of something guys! We believe in you!

You do realize that a good deal of that filler is there so they can get the teams situated for a match? On a normal day, they need to login several accounts, set up an official match, have everyone connect, clear it of bugs and stuff, make sure the server is running smoothly and much more. On best of 5 days, they have to leave time for that type of maintenance in case of issues, as well as time for coaches to consult with their teams about the last match, the next match, things to work on, pick and ban strategy, etc. For the pro teams, this is like a real sport, and they also need a bit of a rest in there too. You wouldn't complain about a football game having a halftime and some time-outs? You wouldn't complain about a soccer match having quarters so that the athletes can rest? playing up to 5 40-50 minute games with almost no break would be exhausting and by the end of it, it would all come down to who didn't need to go to the bathroom or who's hand didn't cramp from constantly clicking around the map.

Come on dude, think about it. You think they're purposefully subjecting us to analysis when they could be showing gameplay? That's silly. They have so much analysis because there is so much down-time between games and they want to give their viewers something to watch until the game starts. If you quit looking at the analysis segments like a burden, you might enjoy them a little bit more. I know I do.

And you know Crumbz takes like two years to make his point

and 9.5 hour broadcasts are just too long.

MrSexyHobo5/10/2015, 8:14:58 PM3 votes

i guess we can watch a blank screen while they set up the next game? saves them money and apparently adds to the show somehow in your eyes?

Sarutobi5/10/2015, 2:04:27 PM3 votes

I gotta agree. It gets boring after awhile, and majority of the time I usually just mute or leave till the game actually starts. I understand they need to set up the next match, but seriously I don't remember it taking that long. Hell if anything show the audience. I know a barely got to see them, and would be nice to show case what signs people have, or even ask the audience questions!

Kids...

footfoe5/13/2015, 5:32:25 PM1 votes

pretty sure they are buying time for the players to take a break and set back up... Would you rather stare at the empty stage during this time?

RyzeRework5/10/2015, 7:02:46 PM1 votes

i very much like the indepth talk about the teams there strats everything i think is well needed i just dont like dash everything about him bothers me lolol

TheGrandAlliance5/11/2015, 12:06:07 AM1 votes

The problem isn't the analysis... the problem is the ones they have are fucking stupid and have no idea WTF they are talking about: They are like shoutcasters of other Esports.

Only a few of them, like Phreak, Kobe, Riv and some Euroones for example know WTF they are talking about. In fact it should be a requirement that they hold Master Tier+ rank in order to be analysist LoL.

Silents4295/11/2015, 2:13:05 AM1 votes

I kinda bailed on ever becoming an LCS person because the commentary was lame in general. Don't really recall an analysis segment, probably doesn't say much either.

Colgate Gator5/11/2015, 2:33:19 PM1 votes

I always assume they are setting up for the next game.

I won't lie though, I generally pause the video or leave it in the background while I do something else in the other screen, as I rarely am devoting my full attention to LCS.
