The first competitive matches of the 2017 Spring Split are almost here!

Competitive play for the NA LCS and EU LCS will get under way shortly. Teams are already preparing for all the 2017 Season has to offer on Summoner’s Rift, with the first matches taking place on Jan. 19.

Here’s a summary of each league and their first day of matches:

EUROPEAN LCS (EU LCS)

Date: Jan. 19

Time: 8 AM PST

Format: (New)

Two groups, 5 teams per group
Double round robin within groups
Single round robin between groups
Bo3 matches
10 week regular season
3 week playoffs

NORTH AMERICAN LCS (NA LCS)

Date: Jan. 20

Time: 3 PM PST

Format: (Unchanged)

10 teams
Double round robin
Bo3 matches
9 week regular season
3 week playoffs

That's it? It's the same thing that you guys sent out like 3 months ago! Everyone already knew about the new EU and NA regular split procedures and new system, but nothing new to the article?
How about

A roster check to see the team's rosters
Trades and player movements
Player records that might be broken in this upcoming split or just milestones such as/ Balls having 898 assists and Darshan having 996 assists they will soon be the only 3 LCS players with over 1K assists as a top player the only other player so far with over 1K assists = Soaz with 1180 total assists...( Kiwikid if you can him as a top with 1444 assists)
- How about Xpecial nearing the 2k Assist mark with 1910 total assists something that has never happened before in the history of the LCS? As well as being the all time Western Assist leader, as well as possibly in all League E-Sports.
Bjergsen nearing the 1K mark to close in the gap with Doublelift, he currently has 965 Kills, Sneaky has 824 Kills.
How about Reignover closing in on the 1K Assists board and would be the only 2nd 1K Jungler Assist leader in the Western LCS the only other 1K Assist leader= Meteos with 1237 leading jungler assist leader.

*Casters predictions in the upcoming split(team rankings 1-10) similar to Worlds pick'em but instead something a little funnier like Split pick'ems.

A schedule( so people can call out work on certain days when they want to not miss out on say TSM vs CLG etc etc)?

Basically, rito keeps/updates a list of contracts teams have with their players, to allow the public (us) the ability to see who is on their roster. This is it, and oh boy there is definitely some fun stuff happening in EU.

Interesting, I didn't see C9C or (Fly Quest) So idk who's their jungler? It's stopping me from making a stat prediction for the team

Oh yeah I'v been on this site before, I liked the "cool stuff section" to see the top CS records etc, it wasn't updating for a few months so I didn't know if the site was still active or not because I didn't see the Zven and Rekkles cs Records even after a few months. Glad it's back and stuff as I really do enjoy this site, it's also the same site that I have the rosters, the only thing is the C9C name is still blank and it's still called Cloud 9 Challenger.

Just for you -- note: the accuracy of these statements may be 0%, but that is not the point. Faker joins team liquid to reunite with piglet. They still get 4th place. TSM finally stops accepting bribes to let KR win worlds every year and take home the trophy themselves. Voyboy rejoins lcs - having subbed in for an injured jensen; he leads c9 to a 2nd place finish at worlds. Jankos, clearlove, and reignover form team FBK (first blood kings) - whose entire roster is made of top tier junglers from around the world. They place 5th at 2017 worlds while playing only assassin junglers and bruisers in every role -- morde sup and teemo adc become a solo queue meta thanks to them :-(. The unicorns of love only get 8th place at worlds -- but knock out world's favorite SKT in the group stage. The world actually takes a week off from worlds before continuing the rest of the games after SKT is knocked out - just so people can come to terms with what happened. Nightblue3 becomes so influential that league institutes friendly fire in game. At worlds, xPeke has to sub in for his jungler -- in a 5 hour game, he almost wins the game with a sweet backdoor play -- except he backdoored the wrong nexus; xPeke sues nightblue3 for getting friendly fire added to league and costing him a world championship. A tandem mode league is also added professionally for summer split - smebber sets season kda record: 273/1/3. Their one death? Tower diving a level 1 janna played by mimp (mata, imp). At the all stars tournament, TobiasFate places second in the 1v1 tournament -- losing only to Faker in a gp mirror matchup.

I don't know why you responded to me with this ^^^^^^ but not going to lie, it made me laugh IDK if that was the point of your post and you were kidding not sure mainly because "trolls" seem to have excellent humor however if you were just poking fun I laughed so... mission accomplished ?

I would just like to say that the off season was extremely volatile with roster movement. The average fan would not realize the new additions. An update to the team pages with the new rosters and maybe a background blurb about them would be awesome and possibly create more early spring split engagement from the fan bases. At this point in the year rosters will have mostly settled down maybe a few teams have yet to lock in rosters but the vast majority of teams have been practicing and announced their starting rosters. It would be great to see an update from the Esports team @ riot.

Indeed, I mean I look at the casters and they're like 20+ casters and close to 8 for NA alone.
Would have been cool if each week 10 weeks before the Spring Split starts they have a TOP 10 Standings where they have a predicted Standings with detail and thought behind it, not only would it stir up attention and thought it would create discussions and actual views on certain players etc.
( I say this because when you watch League it's 2-3 casters for each game and they normally talk over each other because they all have points that they want to make etc, so why not create more videos if these people will talk over each other?)

Someone told me once " Why do you COMPLAIN so much if you want Riot to do so much why don't YOU do it"

Because I can create a post that says " NA standings" and no one would care but if RIot did it they would get 2.9K views in 10 secs even if it's the same shitt word for word.
I'v created so many posts that I thought people would care about. I've took over 2 weeks adding up number after number to create a 70+ NA/EU player's regular season all- time stats and yet it gets barely 30 views, but if Riot did up a post that says the same shit they would get 4 times that amount in 1 hr.
SO no matter what people do they can't get peoples attention better than Riot can ( That's influence ) and yet they barely use it.

Riot has so much influence and yet they don't ever really use it to their advantage that would benefit their own "sport". So many productive steps to get fans to watch League etc. I could name a few ideas and so could you or anyone else but would it matter ? At this point Riot knows fans do a much better job than they do so why not just sit back and let the everyday fans do your job for you as you get paid doing nothing. # Feels great man!

NA looks like it is going to be a hot mess this season. A lot of strong, unproven teams in the middle of the pack, and while I had CLG at the top, their regular season play is never the same as playoffs or worlds quality.

On a side note, SKT1 and KTRolster are looking exciting. Huni/Peanut together is something I really want to see. KTR has taken some of the best mid and bot laners from the LPL and combined it with Smeb in top lane. That is a winning combination if I ever saw one, and Samsung Galaxy is going into the season with the same team and can use that to their advantage after a great show at worlds.

immortals: shadow of themselves. dignitas: start good, but will fall apart roster-wise. liquid: top tier competitor IF they keep team synergy; if there is "communication issues" (player inter-persona problems) they will fall hard until/unless they swap in correct different players. clg: if NA teams pick up on their win conditions (get huhi one of 3 champs or else bot hard carry and hope for best) they will fall down to mid-tier team; then again, huhi may have added more champs to his roster -- and the when he is playing a champ he is really good at, he is scary. c9: mid to top tier but probably a slow start; basically they will be themselves from 2016. tsm: NA champions unless they lose their identity; probably some drama early or mid season due to change in roster at adc position. rest of teams -- not sure.
