The first competitive matches of the 2017 Spring Split are almost here!

Competitive play for the NA LCS and EU LCS will get under way shortly. Teams are already preparing for all the 2017 Season has to offer on Summoner’s Rift, with the first matches taking place on Jan. 19.

Here’s a summary of each league and their first day of matches:

EUROPEAN LCS (EU LCS)

Date: Jan. 19

Time: 8 AM PST

Format: (New)

  • Two groups, 5 teams per group
  • Double round robin within groups
  • Single round robin between groups
  • Bo3 matches
  • 10 week regular season
  • 3 week playoffs

Where to watch: Lolesports, YouTube, and Twitch

NORTH AMERICAN LCS (NA LCS)

Date: Jan. 20

Time: 3 PM PST

Format: (Unchanged)

  • 10 teams
  • Double round robin
  • Bo3 matches
  • 9 week regular season
  • 3 week playoffs

Where to watch: Lolesports, YouTube, and Twitch

That's it? It's the same thing that you guys sent out like 3 months ago! Everyone already knew about the new EU and NA regular split procedures and new system, but nothing new to the article?
How about

  • A roster check to see the team's rosters

  • Trades and player movements

  • Player records that might be broken in this upcoming split or just milestones such as/ Balls having 898 assists and Darshan having 996 assists they will soon be the only 3 LCS players with over 1K assists as a top player the only other player so far with over 1K assists = Soaz with 1180 total assists...( Kiwikid if you can him as a top with 1444 assists)

    • How about Xpecial nearing the 2k Assist mark with 1910 total assists something that has never happened before in the history of the LCS? As well as being the all time Western Assist leader, as well as possibly in all League E-Sports.

  • Bjergsen nearing the 1K mark to close in the gap with Doublelift, he currently has 965 Kills, Sneaky has 824 Kills.

  • How about Reignover closing in on the 1K Assists board and would be the only 2nd 1K Jungler Assist leader in the Western LCS the only other 1K Assist leader= Meteos with 1237 leading jungler assist leader.

*Casters predictions in the upcoming split(team rankings 1-10) similar to Worlds pick'em but instead something a little funnier like Split pick'ems.

  • A schedule( so people can call out work on certain days when they want to not miss out on say TSM vs CLG etc etc)?

    But NOPE none of that !

immortals: shadow of themselves. dignitas: start good, but will fall apart roster-wise. liquid: top tier competitor IF they keep team synergy; if there is "communication issues" (player inter-persona problems) they will fall hard until/unless they swap in correct different players. clg: if NA teams pick up on their win conditions (get huhi one of 3 champs or else bot hard carry and hope for best) they will fall down to mid-tier team; then again, huhi may have added more champs to his roster -- and the when he is playing a champ he is really good at, he is scary. c9: mid to top tier but probably a slow start; basically they will be themselves from 2016. tsm: NA champions unless they lose their identity; probably some drama early or mid season due to change in roster at adc position. rest of teams -- not sure.

I find the new EULCS regular season completely weird! Why did they not let BO2 for everyone ?

I would prefer to have more than 6 days notice to get my fantasy lcs league together for a draft, can we get that opened up soon please??

NA looks like it is going to be a hot mess this season. A lot of strong, unproven teams in the middle of the pack, and while I had CLG at the top, their regular season play is never the same as playoffs or worlds quality.

On a side note, SKT1 and KTRolster are looking exciting. Huni/Peanut together is something I really want to see. KTR has taken some of the best mid and bot laners from the LPL and combined it with Smeb in top lane. That is a winning combination if I ever saw one, and Samsung Galaxy is going into the season with the same team and can use that to their advantage after a great show at worlds.
