TSM has a great group. They could even take 1st.

C9 should be able to get into the group phase. TSM looks to have a manageable group with a good chance to make it to the knock out phase this year. Group A is going to be fun to watch. IMT #feelsbadman makes it to worlds, gets put in same group as Longzhu Gaming and GAM.

Jatt said after the group draws that the TSM from 2016 looked stronger than this year. I completely disagree with that statement, I think TSM have prepared themselves diligently by sacrificing games to practice team comps that they knew they were scrapy with at best. With that being said, on paper TSM doesn't look as good as they did last year but in reality, they worked on diversity in terms of team comp and play style without relying on individual skill from their roster. IMO, TSM is gonna make to semi's. Note I could be terribly wrong in my predictions but its this gut feeling that I have.

This is what I think: For group A in play in, they are the strongest team, GMB WE and LYN are all big names in their region, it is unlucky for all 3 teams, they will have real challenge in the first round. Group B and C, C9 and FNC looks like by far the favor team, specially FNC. Group D is likely to be a major region team is going to get upsets, FB and RPG were dominating in Rift Rivals, HKA was performing pretty bad in LMS in regular season, but they went really well in gauntlets like SSG and made to world, group D overall has the closest level and hardest to predict. For Group stage, assume all major region win the play-ins, Group A is exciting SKT and EDG likely to be the two team to knock out stage, but the pool 3 could be FNC or C9 that will really mess up EDG's chances, EDG might still able to go to knock out, but it would not be easy, AHQ has the worst luck in the group draw today, they never beat SKT, and only beat EDG once in team history. Group B looks clearer if we only look at results, but macro games and styles should be extremely fun to watch, the pool 3 team likely gonna be WE FNC or HKA, if its not WE in this group, the battle of second place is incredibly close, but LZ should absolutely dominates this group, I would say LZ has the best luck in the group draw today. Group C would be group of death to me, specially G2, they have to overcome what TSM had last year, pool 3 will be HKA or C9, but I don't think it matters, SSG and RNG looks like the favorites, and G2 look like they gonna chock again in international stage, but this time they do have a much harder group, it can be an excuse. Group D is where real NA excitements are, TSM facing much easier teams, FW are on down hills and they are very close to TSM in skill levels, MSF just like SPY last year, as long as u don't underestimate them and take seriously, MSF shouldn't be any problem, but pool 3 matters in this group, likely be HKA or WE, if WE is in this group, they might ruined TSM a bit, but still I do believe TSM can get out of group as 2nd at least, with HKA, just play them like MSF, shouldn't be a big problem, and TSM I would say they have the second best luck today. In NA's view to me: TSM is likely to make out of groups, IMT will need some luck to prevent WE in pool 3 and I do think they have a good chance to out of group as well. For C9, getting out of play in is easy, but they are only gonna place in A or C, with LCK+LPL groups are hard, I do not think C9 really have any chances, group C is absolutely no chance, group A still has a bit cause EDG chocked once a while in international games like G2, but just less harder chocks.

It's another year of hope that the best team(s) of NA/EU will make it to finals. However, I don't see a western stomp team this year. Good or bad?

Cloud 9 are actually fucked. Even if they make it to groups, they are getting put into Group A or Group C. Both of which are the hardest groups.
