So basically if TSM wins summer playoffs, and C9 beats DIG. Then it's TSM- 1 seed for worlds, and C9- 2 seed for worlds. Am I seeing that correctly

DIG beat C9. CLG will beat NV.

DIG is the lower seed than CLG, and therefor will have to beat TSM. They will beat TSM. CLG is the higher seed and will play IMT. IMT will win. IMT will beat DIG in finals. TSM beats CLG for 3rd place.

IMT goes to worlds for winning summer split.
TSM goes to worlds for having 160 Championship points.
The gauntlet would be: NV<FLY<CLG<C9<DIG. DIG vs CLG in finals. DIG wins and if final team in Worlds.

NV isn't going to the Gauntlet. and DIG lost to TSM, Feelsbadman.

So basically TSM is already locked into worlds, even if they don't win anything else. Am I seeing that correctly?

Not necessarily, if C9 were to lose in the finals against anyone other than TSM, then TSM would go to the Gauntlet.

If C9 makes finals, they go to worlds. Even if TSM is 3rd place and C9 is second, they would be tied for points, with the tiebreaker going to the team that won the most points this split (C9 in the finals with 90, in this case)

Most likely we're going to get a TSM/C9 semi-final match up. If EV can beat CLG though then we could get a TSM/C9 final and IMT can try to get some revenge on C9 in the semis.

Then again DIG can win and rob us all of some great story telling narrative lol.

See, for me that's what is going to make the semis more interesting than the finals. Unlike past splits in which there were an odd number of "top-tier teams", the fact that there's only two means that the rest of the field is surprisingly even. Dignitas beating C9 is a very real possibility, as is NV against CLG even if it's slightly less.

The most interesting thing I'm seeing with the champion points is the fact that if C9 gets upset by Dignitas (a very possible outcome even if they're not favored), and TSM wins finals (a VERY likely conclusion), then either Dignitas or CLG would only need to take third to qualify for worlds. This could mean for a very exciting third place match if say... CLG>NV, and DIG>C9 in the quarterfinals. IMT>CLG and TSM>DIG in the Semifinals. And TSM>IMT in finals. Given the fact that this would require only one upset, it's a very likely possibility the DIG and CLG will end up fighting for a spot to Worlds.

Actually, assuming you are talking about points, if C9 loses to dig they end up with 90 pts (70 from Spring split + 20 from Summer). CLG and DIG need 2nd place or higher to qualify for worlds (10pts Spring + 90 pts Summer), and 3rd place only gives them 80pts.

C9 is guaranteed to have to go to the gauntlet with this loss.
TSM already has more points than C-9 even if they lose in the semis so if TSM doesn't win the split, C-9 is locked out for points. Now let's assume TSM wins the split.
Suppose NV loses to CLG. Then the winner of CLG and IMt will get at least second place and get at least 90 points. That would give clg more points than c-9 and give IMT the same amount of points. However, the one with more points in summer wins the breaker. C-9 is thus locked out.
Suppose NV upsets CLG. Then the winner of Dig and IMT would do the same. Dig would end up with more points and IMT tied. Same thing as above.

Thus C9 is guaranteed the gauntlet. They can't get in on points.

thank you for that explanation that cleared it up for me. i hate how c9 lost to dig even though i like dig as a team (long time c9 fan here)

if NV upsets CLG and if DIG upset IMT and TSM wins the finals against DIG, I think C9 can get the second seed. am I wrong? edit: I'm wrong bc DIG would have 100 CP and C9 would have 90

No, TSM would have more points than C9 so TSM would go on points. The only way C9 can go is to win the gauntlet.

What happens if its immortals and TSM are in the finals, and TSM wins. In that case, Immortals would have 90 points and so would C9. Does anyone know which team would take 2nd seed?

The team with the most points from summer would get the second place worlds seed so IMT would go. With their loss this weekend the gauntlet is the only way for C9 to make worlds.

If TSM beats DIG in semifinals: Worlds 1st seed: Winner of finals Worlds 2nd seed: Loser of finals Gauntlet: FLY -> 4th place finisher -> 3rd place finisher -> C9

If DIG beats TSM: Worlds 1st seed: Winner of finals Worlds 2nd seed: TSM Gauntlet: FLY -> 3rd / 4th place finisher (not TSM) -> C9 -> loser of finals

TLDR; Every team playing in semifinals next weekend is guaranteed at least a spot in the Gauntlet. TSM is guaranteed Worlds. Whoever finishes highest and isn't TSM gets Worlds too.
