On November 4, we’ll find out who will emerge victorious from the 2017 League of Legends World Championship as the top two teams clash at the Bird’s Nest in Beijing.

$25 to see it in a small theater at 3am? Sorry, I'll stay home and watch it on my 4k big screen for no additional cost, and sleep in until 30 min prior. Snacks will be a lot cheaper also.

I would love to do this.. I even live in a major city environment. SURELY Kansas City has something like this given its large population and large following of league fans... oh wait... NOPE. ESports once again forgets that there is a center of the country and continues to praise the costs.

You're actually blaming the wrong people here. It's the fault of any local theaters and Coca-Cola. Coke owns the rights due to a deal they struck with Riot and any theater's refusing to host, mostly due to whether or not enough people will show up in order to cover costs, so really it's a combination.

Dude, I live in Kansas City too. I feel though that Riot is going for popular places for people to go, like California, Madison Square Garden, or other countries. In KC we have like no tourist attraction except good BBQ, and lets be frank, who that f*** actually wants to go to Kansas?

Kansas City is mostly in Missouri.... also, its the Heart of the country. Biggest city thats close to the geographical center of the contiguous 48. Plus with the sprint center, we have the infrastructure to support a tournament like worlds (maybe not the finals, but definitely earlier rounds).

We have the place to support some games of worlds, but again, we are not a event focused town. Being the center isn't really the best. The east and west coast have access to more transportation, and they are accustomed to the large numbers of people for huge events. I would love to see them do something here, or maybe even get a few movie theaters to show worlds, but the chances seem slim.

confirmed this is actually the best part, theatre full of people cheering makes it 10x more awesome

and 3am just adds to that. a bunch of league fans with the entire theatre to themselves. smuggle in a monster and go nuts. something you'll never forget.

None in Halifax, but with opening ceremonies at 3:30am, it's going to take a lot of willpower to even stay awake for it anyway.

Watching the rebroadcast at a sensible hour isn't really the same...maybe I'll pick up energy drinks as the practical choice to get through it, instead of the more alcohol themed bad choice that is my first instinct.

I went to one last year in Chicago. It was packed and everyone was loud and cheering. We were there pretty late. I enjoyed every bit of it.

I did this last year and am definitely doing it again this year. The theater I went to last year is sadly not hosting a Viewing Party. The theaters around me that are hosting it are not the nicest so I hope there is a large crowd at least!

If it was something cool, like a code for Riot Squad Singed, I'd go and actually pay for this. However, even though one of these is literally 5 minutes from my house, I'd rather just stream from home for free.
