Who's No. 1 in top lane? MaRin says it's him or Koro

After Korea's SKTelecom T1 convincingly defeated China's EDward Gaming on Day 1 of the Mid-Season Invitational, SKT top laner Kyunghwan "MaRin" Jang took no time to declare himself as one of the tournament's best top laners. "Of the three players I played against today, I would rate myself first or second," he told Lolesports. "I think Koro1 is a really good player and he showed flashes of brilliance, so it's either me or him." Tong "Koro1" Yang wasn't the only one with brilliant plays, though. Throughout the match against EDG, MaRin displayed his mastery of Rumble time and time again. His impeccable Equalizers (R) continuously put EDG between a rock and a hot place, and oftentimes he laid them down before his competitors were even on screen, anticipating exactly where they'd be coming from. "I think that type of play really comes from my high comfort with Rumble," MaRin says. "I play Rumble a lot. That's first and foremost. Secondly, the way I play, I try to predict what my opponents will do. I try to take away their exit routes or I try to predict their tendencies." SKT stands tall atop the MSI pack for now, as the only team with a 3-0 record. Today they'll face Fnatic and Ahq e-Sports Club, though MaRin hopes in the future he has the chance to play against EDG and Koro1 again. "Playing against Koro1 is fun because I think we have very similar styles," he says with a smile. While MaRin doesn't think he can learn any new tricks from the Chinese top laner, he enjoys the challenge of playing against him. "He gives me that opportunity to perfect my style. But it's not necessarily [that] I'm going to take this and that from his game and apply it to mine." EDG currently sits at 1-1 in the MSI rankings, and today they'll face Fnatic, Beşiktaş e-Sports Club, and Team SoloMid, so we'll have to wait until the end of the day to see if MaRin gets his wish. Huni is the best toplaner in the tournament in my opinion, it was him who almost carried FNC to the win against SKT T1, they still put up a good fight against them though.

Well, in the States I would say that Dyrus is the best toplaner. Korea has him beat though.

Both Huni and AHQ's Top Laners put on quite the Fight against Marin, we have to be honest here, Huni's Gnar was just out of this world, he put on the fights he could when he could, FNC as a whole had by far less nerves then against EDG, and thats why they put on such a clash of titans against SKT. as for AHQ, what a match also vs SKT, if anything both Region's should have there pride restored, its not a bad defeat, its a 50/50 coin flip game that could of gone any side. now... the biggest winner of FNC and AHQ's games v.s SKT is infact EDG, EDG now will have time to observe and prepare how to defeat SKT. as EDG after all has a very simular team to FNC, just the adc role is clearly better.

TSM is a great team, I'm a fan of them... but, Dyrus is Dragging them down... Dyrus only carries the game if he gets fat early game. but as he is the weak point of TSM, teams always target him and ganks top MOST of the time. as you can see in tsm's plays, they always gank him...

But I get the feeling they're letting them gank him... must be a part of a plan but failed countless times. but if it IS a plan, they should change it. Cuz it'll only drag them down to the bottom. like how FNC destroyed them at the Game1 Day1 and Game8 Day1 [SKT T1 vs TSM]

I love how Dyrus plays passive, but, sometimes, it just doesnt work out and it doesnt suit him... He suits to be playing Aggressive.

I'll never say Dyrus is bad I remember S3 and even 4 he was considered the best, and I still think he's great, but the meta style has completely changed and he can't keep up, but I'll always have mad respect for him.
