Aphromoo: I want to be a godlike player

Zaqueri "Aphromoo" Black has strong opinions on how the support role should be played. “Meta stuff, things like Annie, things like Janna, are super passive. You don’t see them making a ton of plays. I don’t really view that as how you should play support. I mean, you can be good if you want to play passive and just want to peel. And you can do that if you have four godlike players, but I like to be a godlike player as well.” With the first four games of Counter Logic Gaming's 2015 season under his belt, he’s found success on playmaking supports like Blitzcrank and Morgana. Against Cloud9 in Week 2, he seemingly couldn’t miss a Dark Binding on Hai "Hai" Lam’s LeBlanc, normally an incredibly slippery target. He didn’t let his perfect skillshots get to his head, though. “I don’t even think about [landing skillshots]. I’m so focused on just winning the game. As long as I line up my skillshots, I know my team can follow up and we can get ahead. It’s more important to me that I’m able to do that efficiently than getting excited.” That calm attitude allows him to keep the pressure on his opponents. “I like when I’m able to have -- this is going to be cliche because of my Leona video,” he laughs. “I do like to have presence so that the enemy team is scared of me. Having that allows us to get the kills that we want and also take objectives off of that. The bottom five supports in the LCS -- I don’t know who that is -- they don’t go for the plays, or don’t have the trust of their teammates, or don’t have the confidence.
