Everything would have to go right and TBH C9 has a nasty habit of killing themselves in pick/ban during the knockout stages. I've got them behind G2 for the second team to get out of group A, but after that IDK.

Win? Not likely. Get out of Groups? Likely.

It's going to depend on which version of C9 comes out to play. Either they'll be a disaster or they'll be a lesser G2. We don't really know how they'll look against the other regions because the only time we got to see them at a mixed region event (Rift Rivals) they were all very sick and definitely not playing their best.

Everyone counts them out and puts faith in Liquid/TSM every year and yet C9 is consistently the best representative NA has at Worlds. I'm hoping they have a good showing this year as well and wouldn't be surprised if they made quarters or semis.

TL has a better shot of reaching the finals.

I believe in C9, people may think TL is better, but C9 has way more experience. And think about how close they were last year.

C9 is definitely a heavy favorite to make it out of groups. G2 is the best in the world right now, but LCK can’t compete with with NA or EU, so I imagine groups will be a walk no matter who the 4th team is.

I'm on baited breaths with the C9 hype this year more than any previous. I mean even if this year is a bomb, I'll give them that free pass cause they're freaking C9! Limited faith in Griffin sees I may not need that pass after all.

lol i like to keep my standards high. But ever since watching final bo5 with uol and spy and the groups being formed like yeah its nice that c9 isnt in rngs group bc rng wiped the floor with them last year but i know they're gonna lose to g2 and hka was put in thier group but i havent seen any of their matches

probably the best chance NA has of winning worlds between the 3. I have no faith in DL

I think getting out of groups depends upon Griffin. They have a history of choking. If they keep it up, a spot opens up for C9. G2 have been known to throw a time or two also. You just never know with best of ones. Could be they get smacked. Could be kind of like last year when the so called group of death didn't turn out to be. Again you just never know.

I guess i will get some hate for it but...

Last year, NA won their first B05 in worlds hisotry. Thats nice; especially since it was a gainst a korean team. But winning a single bo5 in several years doesnt suddenly make NA great - especially not as a region.

Acting like any of their teams are favorites based on that single win? I think thats a bit over the top. In this regard, i think the years of complete korean domination say more about the regions strength then this single success.. which might've simply been a fluke. The other two NA teams didn't perform well at all. As usual, i might add...

And C9 got absolutly stomped in semis. That wasn't a competitive game at all.

The same goes for TL's success at MSI.

NA had two standout moments, and they got hardstomped immidiatly after. Thats far below the track reckord of korea/china/EU.

Show some consistency - this worlds would be NA's chance - but until then...

I don't see how anyone could call it at this point. It's anyone's game.

ChompyWulf10/7/2019, 10:58:26 PM1 votes

I wouldn't even expect C9 to escape their group. G2 and Griffin are good enough that C9 may only win one of their four games against those two.

As much as I like C9, I don't see them winning Worlds. They'll have to make a statement just to get our of their group.

Best case scenario is Cloud 9 in a tie-breaker vs Griffin and the winner being 4-3 or something. I'm counting Cloud 9 out this year.
