Worlds 2017: Finals International Tickets

Riot·10/23/2017, 1:57:02 AM·1 votes·27,297 views

The last two teams will have battled through Worlds to get to this moment -- Finals. This is where legends are made. If you’re planning on making the journey to Beijing to watch the action unfold first hand, read on!

Based on our final production setup, we’ll be releasing an extremely limited quantity of additional Finals tickets via Damai on November 2 at 7:00 AM PT. Only upper bowl seats will be available.

International Tickets

To limit scalpers offering overpriced tickets, we have protections in place during the first wave of ticket sales. Unfortunately, one of the tradeoffs of these scalping protections is that only fans with a Chinese League of Legends account can buy tickets. To ensure that fans outside of China also get access to tickets, we set up a second wave of tickets intended for international travelers. Due to technical constraints, both fans from outside China and fans from China can purchase tickets during the second wave.

When do international tickets go on sale?

International ticket sales will go live on Wednesday, October 25 at 10:00 AM PT and will conclude at 10:00 AM PT on Wednesday, November 1.

How do I purchase tickets?

We’ll be selling tickets through Damai. In order to expedite the process we recommend setting up an account prior to the on sale date. The ticket site will only be available in English, so international fans be sure to use your browser’s built-in translator to help you grab your tickets.

UPDATE: The Damai ticketing link will go live on 10/24 at 10:00 PM PT.

How much will tickets be?

  • Floor seats 1: 1280 RMB / $185
  • Floor seats 2: 880 RMB / $127
  • Lower bowl: 480 RMB / $70
  • Middle bowl: 380 RMB / $55
  • Upper bowl: 280 RMB / $41

What dates are the tickets for?

The Finals will take place on November 4 in Beijing.

How many tickets can I buy?

Two tickets per player.

How will I get my tickets?

A passport is required to purchase and pick up international tickets. Players will need to pick up the tickets themselves for international ticket sales in Beijing prior to the event, and specific instructions will be available on Damai

Event Details

Where will Finals be held?

When will doors open?

Doors will open at 12:30 PM local time (China Standard Time - CST).

When does the event start?

The opening ceremony will begin at 2:30 PM CST. Pre-show content will begin at 1:30 CST.

What format are the Finals played in?

The Finals follow the same format as the entirety of the Knockout Stage. The final two teams will play a Best of 5 (Bo5) match with the winners hoisting the Summoner’s Cup as world champions.

Will there be any live musical performances?

We’ll kick off Finals with an Opening Ceremony featuring one of China’s top artists Jay Chou, and a performance of the 2017 Worlds anthem “Legends Never Die” by Against The Current.

FAQ

Why are you launching tickets so late?
Running events in China can be impacted by local circumstances that delay ticket sales. Working within the constraints created by these circumstances has meant shorter timelines for each stage than we would have liked, but we want to do everything we can to ensure that fans who want to buy tickets are able to smoothly.

I've been reading about technical issues buying tickets, what's going on?
Our ticketing vendor is looking into the issues fans have had buying tickets, which is why we’re starting sales on Wednesday – it gives the vendor time to run tests and make improvements that will help avoid repeating the same issues. We apologize to anyone who has had issues buying tickets for any of the previous stages. If you’ve had issues purchasing tickets or concerns, please reach out to [email protected].

Why can local fans also purchase international tickets?
With local ticket sales, we’re able to restrict the purchase of tickets to only fans with a Chinese League of Legends account. We also offer a small percentage of tickets to fans without a Chinese League of Legends account, but technical constraints mean that we can’t prevent local fans from also buying. Given this, we recommend being ready for international ticket sales as soon as they go live. We do have preventive measures and protections in place to limit the number of tickets that scalpers can purchase.

You should be all set to grab your Finals tickets for the 2017 World Championship. If you have any questions or concerns not covered in this article, reach out to [email protected]. Remember to keep it dialed to Lolesports for everything Worlds 2017. We’ll see you in Beijing!

FUCK THE RE-SELLERS

from a China local player

Almost ALL OF the tickets in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan were sold to the re-sellers (We call it "Huang Niu"), and they raise the price up to 10 times. A floor seat in Shanghai costs 13000 CNY (about 2000 USD).

I could say nothing but just cry.

(Please forgive my poor English)

I was logged in and ready to purchase by 10am. So much for “being all set to grab your Finals tickets.” They were sold to scalpers before any international fans were able to purchase. Extremely disappointed, this could have been handled much better so international fans would have had the opportunity to attend. I’ve attended the last two worlds, I had already purchased plane tickets, hotels, etc to attend this year. Guess that isn’t happenening.

What a joke RIOT. The event wouldn't even list the Beijing tix for about ten minutes and once it did NOT A SINGLE TICKET WAS AVAILABLE. RIOT, how stupid are you to have sold yourself to a chinese company. Did anyone get a ticket???????????????????????????

You can easily prevent Chinese consumers from using international tickets.

Just cancel any order of international tickets with a Chinese billing address. (Edit: and require a non-Chinese passport to pick up the tickets.)

Scalping has been a long time issue in China. And it has been almost eliminated since the implementation of the "Real Name System". Which means tickets buyers need to enter their real names when purchasing tickets, and when they enter the event venue they will need to show an ID/passport that matches the name on the ticket. I'm sure this is not a new concept to anyone but why is it so freaking hard to get a world ticket?????!!!!!!

Miser Catullus10/23/2017, 10:10:44 PM1 votes

so is it possible to get a chinese league account with an international qq and buy the tickets, and order their deliveries to the booked hotels in bj? I know tickets will be gone in like an hour after sales open, and thd lag is real. It's still worth trying if it is viable though. also, isn't birdnest an open stadium? it's gonna be super cold in november.

Will the hyperlinks to the tickets become operational? As right now they are just redirecting back to the homepage. Anyone else experiencing this?

Akhelios10/24/2017, 2:41:07 PM1 votes

So international tickets go on sale on the second wave, what's the time and date for the second waves release.

Soviet Union10/24/2017, 3:21:08 PM1 votes

Sorry but is the link working for anyone?

Riot, you really dropped the ball this year in regards to tickets, and how the situation is for international fans. You're putting tickets up for sale little more than a week before the matches are going to be played, hopefully well knowing that getting into China takes more than a week, meaning that you either have to buy airplane and hotel tickets, on top of the visa, without having tickets for the event itself, or wait for the event tickets, then somehow hope that the visa procedures take less than a week. Spoiler alert: They won't. Checked with the chinese embassy.

You managed to put the tickets up so chinese fans could get them well before international fans, so what exactly stopped you from letting the rest of us buy those, too? The chinese fans and ticket scalpers will be able to purchase international tickets anyway, so why are you limiting us from the first wave of tickets? Frankly, this year has been a huge fiasco when it comes to tickets, and giving a damn about fans outside of China. I don't know if it's because of the chinese vendors or Riot itself, but you really let us down big time. I've been to the last three world finals, but I can't go this year because of this mess. Seriously guys, get your shit together.

Gotta Love Rito here. The website they partnered with to sell the tickets is terrible. So to start off this clown-fiesta of buying a ticket, I have my account logged into before the tickets go on sale. The second they go on sale I add 2 tickets to my cart and click purchase. The website first has me log into my account again which takes at least a minute because they additional security check takes forever. After that I am able to put in my name and passport number but randomly the website decides that "my account has a problem" and that ANOTHER security check is needed. Of course the first picture that they show is completely illegible so I ask for a new one which takes another 30 sec to a minute. By the time I prove for the 3rd time that I am NOT in fact a robot, instead of kicking me back to the screen to add my payment info where I was before being taken off, i'm sent back to the main page for buying tickets. And at this point its about 1:02-1:03 EST so only a few minutes have passed and now all the tickets are gone. Every single price range. And because RITO had to wait so long to put the tickets up for sale I already had travel plans in place to go to Beijing specifically to see this event. Guess not now... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Im so sad, I'm currently in Vietnam to visit family and attend worlds again but tickets sold out in a few minutes, and with my shootyninternet I was out of luck. I'm not familiar with any Chinese resellers (online), if there something similar to eBay, I would appreciate any help finding out how to buy 1 ticket to attend even in the highest rafters if need be, thank you!
