(Debate) The West can scrape it the top rankings at worlds ?

(Hello, I have not a good English) This year, even if the summersplit is not finished, we can already consider safe to assume the top 3 in each region. It would therefore be: China -> EDG / LGD / HQ, iG WE see if they wake Korea -> SKT / Kt / CJ (Without any doubt although I hope the step up to SSG) Europe -> FNC / H2K / OG (not necessarily agree on it but let OG top 3) NA -> TSM / C9 / TiP or TL LMS -> Not important Wildcard -> Not important There will therefore be 4 group constituted in this way: 1st group: EDG H2K CJ Team LMS 2nd Group FNC Kt C9 Wildcard Team 3rd group SKT LGD OG TiP or TL Group 4 TSM Team LMS iG, HQ or WE Team LMS In short, Europe (Valid for ofc America) should scrape the second minimum to hope to reach the quarters. In each group, we would have a Korean team and a Chinese team occupying the top 3 of their respective regions. In the best case, the FNC or TSM Group "would" or Chinese KR a team to beat. And yet, one could imagine that would be satisfied with a second place to take care of the only wildcard, LMS & EU / NA (depending on the group). For groups where there is presence of a CH + KR team team, I think it is very unlikely (but not impossible) to pass. For other groups, there is a strong chance of passing in the quarter as the level LMS is good but below the EU (And yet) and Wildcard level is well below. But back on the Asian teams. What? SKT FNC managed to take two games on a more regular BO5 the Korean teams (I will not speak better in terms of mechanical or strategic). It's a good thing. SKT has two major midlaners, everyone at ease on a specific style of play. They also have two jungler, Bengi more methodical and Tom more "aggressive". The choice of one or the other will probably depend on the meta chosen by Riot. In addition, SKT has a little low in my opinion, which resides in Marin. It's good but not as solid as Shy, Ssumday or Koro. The botlane is good to see very good, fairly stable. But not the best. EDG Again, more regular Chinese teams with two huge talents on Midlane & botlane accompanied by three major players. Not necessarily the best at their posts but certainly among the best. Their strength, outside of individual skill lies in calling the mid-game. Real monster at that time, EDG plays like a steamroller if we bother them in early. LGD One of the most irregular teams (giving a chance to beat them BO1) but it has two strong arguments. Imp, known for its precision in his ultra-aggressive & GODV, one of the best mids with a huge pool champion, large mechanical and a big revelation to me. While LGD has problems of calls and stability, the team remains monstrous on a good day. Kt Rolster To my mind, the most monstrous Korean team. Attach, as predicted post-mata generation Korean media, gave new life to the line-up. Roaming, aggreissivté, playmaker, high capacity to lead, it is a carry-holder to monitor closely. Accompanied by Ssumday, one of the best toplaner see the best in the world. He gives us a gala against Yasuo Top CJ, got the record on the farm Toplane with a rate of 240 creeps in 20 minutes, always solid, always focuses on the tp, it is a force to be underestimate. Score was also formerly ADC, which proves its strength in the jungle by bringing the snowball game early. Besides that, we Nagne. Not the best but midlaner step up pretty hard right now. It also has to Arrow, very fickle. Capable of the best and the worst. Shortly prenable not see if the team is in shape. The top 3 KR & CH Great question. The 3rd CH is enough ... inconsistent. iG led by Kakao & Rookie are monstrous but is it that two may be enough to carry world? World Elite also has its strengths ... but also great weaknesses shutcalling. HQ, new team that impressed. The top 3 has a common trait: the irregularity. Weakness that can enter ALL as did NWS against the year past (even if they were much more irregular) Korea side, in theory, CJ should occupy the first place (or Skt CJ, it will depend on their regularity). But I do not think Jin Air, SSG, Anarchy, SBENU ... could take 3rd place. CJ is stable, solid. She has strengths as CoCo MadLife who finds his superb Shy or a rock of Toplane. NA & EU I think, I believe that there is only see two Western teams able to qualify out of the group. Fnatic who showed an excellent game in MSI with a level capable of diverting SKT, not even need to talk about, you know all the work done. In NA, maybe C9 arrive at something ... If ever the lead got better! We feel the loss of Hai is not the Incarnation came, however good it soloQ, which will replace it. To see in two months. Of course, this is only the prediction, imagination. The summersplit has barely started, everything can change by the worlds above the meta change at the end of summersplit as every year. Group Stage ? quarter-final ? Semifinal ? Final ? Win ?

As long as that west doesn't have to include NA, which has zero chance.

H2K going to Worlds for Europe? Nah They are not good enough to get top 2 in Summer LCS, imho and by that point their only chance is going to beat in Regional Qualifiers one of UoL/Origen (and if things got extremetly unlucky, they could even be forced to face also one of Gambit or Elements)

Lets be straight about it First idk how strong C9 is right now but I think then can be a top NA team again Second NA 3rd is super up in the air CLG, TL, GV, maybe TIP but they have yet to show much Europe IDK they are still random.

If NA and EU play as good as Fnatic at MSI. Then they have no chance of winning world. They can get out of groups but they are not going to win. Fnatic MSI performance is overstated how good it is in all honestly it wasn't that good. And I believe it was over performing as well. It was leaps and bounds above NA that doesn't say much.

NA and EU have to be better the Fnatic MSI to make it to semi's(unless they lucky draw where they play each other it happened before).

Not saying it is impossible just saying what we have to expect.

You assume a lot of things. The only that I am sure of right now is Fnatic will make it to worlds. I am not even sure Origen will because they didnt play spring split so unless they win the summer split, their chance of going to worlds look slim.

As for NA, there are too many variables. None of the teams look consistent and who knows. C9 might bounce back the last few games and qualify for playoffs.

With the current skill of both regions, I predict EU reaching playoffs of Worlds and NA not getting out of groups. Korea vs China final.

Origen and Fnatic both will be major contenders in worlds if they don´t suddenly fall off their game. Other than that H2K and UoL maybe do have some off chances to at least making quarters...NA still is too far behind and i donßt think they can improve much this split, they just lack proper competition.

I don't think C9 is making it this year, I think they'll make playoffs and recover next year... but I don't think they'll make it to worlds this year.

Origen, FNatic, Gambit, Gravity and CLG has the potential to go big. TSM I think just has a mental block when it comes to worlds... they ALWAYS underperform there. CLG and Gravity are not performing at that level now, but we see glimmers of it. If they pull their act together, they could easily do fairly well at worlds. Gambit shows glimmers of brilliance, but lacks that spark to make it all come together. If they find it, they could be a contender. Origen and FNatic look amazing right now. FNatic is playing things that are NOT their patented style and they still look incredible, and Origen looks nearly flawless. If they keep up this level of performance and don't get arrogant... they will give Ch/KR a run for their money.
