Feel like he'll moderate M&G but delete every sub-par meme that doesn't meet the L.F. quality check.

Laughing FIsh's whole application should be created out of gifs.

I feel like you'd be denied because of, like, celebrity status or something.

Ah, for a moment there I thought it was for games, not boards. Wishful thinking.

We've tried the Tribunal. It wasn't something that scaled very well as the game expanded. Individual player moderators would also having an issue with scaleability.

I would like to apply but keep my name anonymous for personal reasons. Is there any way to prove my dedication so that I do not have to disclose my name?

If you're talking about personal name, you can choose to not disclose it and note it in the application. I don't think it'll harm your chances.

I applied but even if i dont get selected, I just wanna say that I really like that you guys are doing more stuff like this. It shows that you guys care about these boards and I hope you all, new wardens included, keep it up.

I have one question, though. I don't see very many posts made by arbiters or wardens. And I know it's probably because they're so rare compared to normal boards members, but I wanna know what I'm getting myself into. So is there some type of limit on posts arbiters or wardens can make?

Edit: I forgot to put this in my application but I'm working on my education in biopsychology and I want the experience of moderating these boards. I think some experience here will help with my studies in the future.

Just a few questions about this...

  1. Is there any kind of age requirements/preference? I think I'm a bit young compared to many other people who use the boards, but I don't want to let that ruin my chances.

  2. Do Wardens get to delete every yasuo post in existence?

I'm not currently aware of any age requirements, so long as you're 13 years or older per COPPA requirements. Everyone matures and grows at different rates and in different ways, and we'll be looking at the way applicants have historically engaged in discussions in their respective sub-boards. While age isn't a hard factor, I imagine that the relationship between age and experience/behavior will be relatively noticeable.

If it violates the rules, sure! Otherwise, something something "Be fair and distance from favoritism" :^)

As long as your in-game record isn't too extensive, there's still a shot. In-game behavior is something we take into account, but we look into the severity of the violations and the potential for reform moving forward.

Oh neat! Well i'll apply then, i spend waaay more time here than icre to admit anyways.

I do plan to reform, my honor shall reflect this! #TopHonorOrDieTrying

I've had a few fuckups in the past (to be transparent, I had a two week chat restriction back at the end of 2015, and I've quarreled with a few people in CaC before), which I've since apologized and moved on from, but otherwise I'd be 101% willing to volunteer as a Warden for CaC / S,A,aS. I'd also nominate a few other quality CaC posters like Echoing, Raxistaicho, fugertech, and Arakadia. I'd vouch for these four in particular and I hope they'd vouch for me. I'm an active poster in CaC and have judged contests there before.

I'm guessing this applies only for the NA boards? EU and the other boards do these seperatly for themself, right?

Yup, you're correct. Each region has its own team that operates the Boards and subsequent volunteer programs as applicable.

Quick question, what do you mean when you say "What would you do to foster your selected sub-board community?"

To help it grow, expand, and be something that people like to visit I would assume.

Quick question, what do you mean when you say "What would you do to foster your selected sub-board community?"

Yup, as AndreiRayanovsky mentioned, Wardens will be in a position to receive feedback from their respective communities and work to address that feedback either as a group or by forwarding that feedback to Riot. Our goal is to improve the Boards and Boards Community in the best way that we can, and Wardens will be on the frontlines in that mission.

What's the difference between a Warden and an Arbiter?

ModWuks9 votes

{quoted}

What's the difference between a Warden and an Arbiter?

Great question; I'll try to tackle this the best I can.

For starters, Arbiters are specific to the discipline of Player Behavior, but that isn't to say we don't have Wardens within the Player Behavior sub-board as well. Arbiters are individuals who have been identified as:

deeply knowledgeable about our behavior systems to reach out to their fellow players, providing information and helping address questions and concerns you guys bring to our attention.

In contrast with Wardens, applicants need not be necessarily masters in their craft, as there's more of an emphasis on understanding community culture and being able to foster respectful and constructive discussion. You can read more about the structure of the Riot Games Volunteer Programs here:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for taking the time to make this, and thanks for caring about the community--it's easy to forget that this game has real people playing it when you're just staring at models and text on a screen! [slayer-jinx-catface]

We appreciate the kind words. It's honestly so nice to see support that we're getting from players with our initiatives to level up the Boards. Thank you!

LostFr0st1 votes

I have a couple questions. If anyone could answer them I'd appreciate it:

  1. How does the mod flair work? I'm assuming it just auto-activates in the relevant sub-board?

  2. This summer I'll be at work from 6AM - 4pm pacific (I'm on central time) so I'd end up helping out after and around those hours. Idk if anyone is up except player support at that time. Would that be ok?

Thank you in advance,

-LostFr0st

ChaosThief2 votes

I'm not a rioter or anything, but from what I can tell:

The mod flair appears to apply to any board as visible to the arbiters always having blue names while in a post.

Also, don't count riot out for being awake after or around those hours, or just around in general! The boards will still be a wide open place and I wouldn't expect a time zone to really matter that much.
