Moderators Power

Moderators should have the authority and power to take down posts which have no evidence due to the lower quality of these posts and troll posts which are obviously either tilted players or players who are trolling the boards to get a reaction. I know some people out there view Mods as abusive with their power, but theyre literally the only thing keeping this venue open for us to have a voice, without it going out of control and into a shithole of posts that have no value or meaning.

Mods have been raising the bar for the quality of posts but even now i still see tons of posts that people are making, which are just emotional cannon fodder. The rant boards can have these type of posts like it was made to have but general discussion and gameplay threads should have these removed and issue a small punishment like a 1 day ban from posting to keep the users from trying to work around it.

At the end of the day i really want the quality of the posts on the boards to improve and want to have logical discussions with others. Theres no discussion to be had when someone says "i feel like champion x is too strong", because then a response like "i feel like champion x isnt too strong" ends the discussion. Many posts dont include a why and they should need to otherwise theres nothing to discuss over.

"https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/rUesA6Ag-urf-reminded-me-of-something" Heres a really good post thats a good example of how our posts should be formulated.

he talks about shaco and other trap based abilities. Now im not going to go too much into detail because im using this as an example of a good post, the actual content is irrelevant to this discussion.

Please, god, this. They've been increasing the standards for the boards, but it's still nowhere near high enough.

There's still way too many blatant rants allowed to sit at the top of the boards for way too long. Even it being in GD shouldn't be an excuse.

Every (non-joke) post calling for a nerf needs to be backed by actual stats. This needs to be enforced by mods 3-day banning anyone who fails to do so, with the only exception being things where stats simply are not physically available in a reliable manner.

Extreme? Very much so. But with this sheer septic tank that's been dumped on the boards, with many posts being shitposts that shouldn't have even been able to be formed on a keyboard without the computer fucking giving up, it's about the only damn thing that's strict enough.

Maybe relax it after a few months, once everyone's gotten the hang of it. Once the community finally stops encouraging this shit, it can be dropped back down to just spamming levels with punishment.

I’ve called for this, or at least for them to take down things that are proven lies during discussion, but they don’t have the manpower or don’t want to be “fact police” (which makes it sound bad ).

As far as Gameplay is concerned, we're working on it.

I've been pushing for a GP rules update for a while now and that's my working document. I feel we're about 90% complete. It's longer than the other rules updates, but improving GP is a much bigger ask, as we're going to have to change the culture.

With regard to GD, that's not likely to change. The culture of GD is more "rough and tumble" on purpose, as that's what the GD community has always wanted. "Low effort" has a very different meaning there.

Hey there,

As a long time member of the GD community, I can say we aren't going to be really enforcing a "only high quality" thread standard there. We GDers have a tendency to speak what's on our mind and so long as it doesn't become egregiously spammy (posting dozens of threads that consist of nothing or a wall of emotes) and stays within the Board Universal Rules regarding everything else (no hate speech, no harassment of others, etc...) we find them a-okay. It's what allows us to post random things about our lives and express our frustration in derpy ways, being a dysfunctional family as always. I'm sorry if you feel that turns people away from the Boards as that's the last thing we want, but we also want the community of GD to thrive as it always has, rants and all.

We are working on improving the other sub-boards though as Ulanopo noted.
