The annoying "clicking a discussion and clicking to go back"

Can't we have something like reddit....where we can extend the post to see its contents...or by clicking on it we just get a pop-up-ish window that we can later close to still have the rest of the discussions on the back? It just would be more smother and relaxing..... I think that if this happens.....people would more often read the actual discussion on the boards :D
