Just because im low Elo doesnt mean I have nothing to contribute to League.

I am bronze.

I play at a bronze-silver level.

The game should not be balanced on what I find annoying, but I should not be disregarded

I dont care what Elo you are, you are NOT better then me.

Just because you are silver, gold, plat, diamond, master, or challenger does not make you a better person, a happier person, a more successful person then me.

It means you spent a lot of time in a video game and earned an arbitrary achievement in that video game.

I dont want to disregard that achievement, but if you lord it over me saying "Im diamond 5, you're bronze, you're not allowed to have an apinion on anything in league, ever." Im going to call BS

You are not smarter, you are not better. I can contribute things EVEN IF I AM NOT HIGH ELO.

Welcome to the real world sweetheart, WHERE EVERYONE IS ALLOWED AN OPINION.

Edit: some people seem to have missed the point entirely. I understand that as a low elo player, a high elo player will be able to contribute more then I will due to them have a better understanding of the game. What I am against is being lorded over because Im not gold or higher and treated as if I could never contribute valid and well thought out points to the game. If Someone from challenger told what i was doing was wrong, I would likely listen, but if that same person insulted me personally because they can beat me at league, Im going to call that person out on it.

Now it looks like you are the one looking for superiority. You're now the villain.

I only accept Bronze/Silver's arguments if he acknowledges his mistakes or other points & leads to a structured & knowledgeable argument or conversation.

A bad example is this thread that I've discussed a few hours ago:

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/Qa4QzHzP-blitz-top-lane-in-ranked-is-not-bannable?comment=000000000001

I pointed out multiple points about why there's better tanks to pick at top lane besides Blitzcrank, all I got was "I beat him so your argument is null". Funnier thing is that he's Silver.

I agree with this.

'Better than you' as a person? No. 'Better than you' at League? Absolutely.

It means you spent a lot of time in a video game and earned an arbitrary achievement in that video game.

Not exactly. One of my friends started playing two years after I did, he played for a few months, jumped into ranked, and got to Plat within a matter of 100 games, then hit Diamond in another 150 games or so. This person is just naturally good at games, some people are... for some it's a grind, for others it just comes to them as simply as breathing.

I dont want to disregard that achievement, but if you lord it over me saying "Im diamond 5, you're bronze, you're not allowed to have an apinion on anything in league, ever." Im going to call BS

It depends, if we're in a game and you start tier-two boots on an ADC before building any other damage item and then question my decision making, you had better believe I am going to speak up.

It would be like me trying to tell a doctor that their diagnosis was wrong when I have never been to medical school... they know more about medicine than I do, it doesn't make them a better person, but if I chime in about medical issues I am pretty sure that my opinion has less weight than theirs given the knowledge that they have.

If a Master-tier player told me that I should build x, then y, then z, I'm not going to argue because they're playing this game at a higher level than I am.

Welcome to the real world sweetheart, WHERE EVERYONE IS ALLOWED AN OPINION.

Everyone is allowed an opinion, but some opinions carry far more weight than others. If we're having a discussion about game balance, I'll listen to your view, but I'll give FAR GREATER consideration to Diamond, Master and Challenger tier players than I will yours.

That's the real world, sweetheart, where people that accomplish more in the field for which we are discussing are given more credibility than those that have not.

http://na.op.gg/statistics/tier/

It's really important to remember that 75% of the playerbase is bronze or silver (closer to 50% by the end of a season).

Riot isn't making money off of people at high elo. They're making money mostly from gold players and below. Do pro matches and streaming and all that add some value to the game? Sure! But they're still making money from having low skill players here. The pros only add value in that they attract more players, many of whom are not very good. Even if it was found that high elo players outspend gold and below 2:1, they still don't even come close to bridging that gap.

My point is this; while bronze/silver players may be objectively worse at the game, their opinion really matters, because Riot is f'd if they all leave. So if bronzies find Yasuo annoying, it matters. If bronzies can't figure out how Rift Herald works, it matters. If bronzies think games last too long, it matters.

And the truth is, that's why bronze players make diamond+ players angry. Because you get to decide a lot about the game without putting in the level of effort it takes to be really, really good. I think both sides have valid gripes here, and that's why I'm glad there are threads like this that explore that a little bit.

It's honesty a tough situation. It would be a lot easier on Riot if they could just balance for Diamond +, but they can't afford to do that. And that's a good thing! Because of that difficulty, many more people get to enjoy the game, and that's what they care about most (even if you're cynical, enjoyment leads to profit)!

So whenever a diamond+ player tries to tell you that you suck, kindly remind them that they are economically irrelevant compared to the armies of low elo players. They're welcome to whine about high elo balance all they want, but you have a voice too and you're gonna use it. If they want to play a game where the opinions of unskilled players don't matter, they can kindly find a new game. That's not how Riot works, and thank goodness for that.

"Welcome to the real world sweetheart, WHERE EVERYONE IS ALLOWED AN OPINION." i think ur living in fantasy. if people are better than you at a game, or anything yes theyre opinions matters way more, people are going to listen to someone like faker over you 100%.

I have a strong opinion on this post and love how you wrote this because I was B5 last season and still unranked this season. My goal is Gold this year and possibly higher if I can reach that in time. You are correct because your high ELO doesn't make you better then any other Bronze players and I can relate to ELO shame in game with higher ELO players, but most of the time I'm better than them and carry my team. The best thing to do in these cases is to play the game and don't even read their chats, you be the better player and respond nicely or not at all and finally carry your team to victory.

Naramiel2/5/2018, 3:23:54 PM1 votes

There are cases where the experience of low ELO people matters. For example, if Master Yi won 90% of games in Bronze ELO, that would be a problem even if more experienced players could handle him.

Higher ELO means (on average) that someone knows more about the game and about how to win it. But it doesn't mean that their enjoyment or their experience matter more.

you must understand these snobby gold and platinum players, for many of them it will probably be the greatest achievement they will ever receive their entire lives.

Caretaker Jack3/2/2018, 2:09:59 AM1 votes

I'm sorry, but there is no way around it... If you're bronze then you're probably not a good player.

That aside, you are still allowed to have an opinion... Like, you just made a post now, so it's pretty safe to say that nobody is, successfully, getting you to shut up. The real problem is that diamond player is saying that there is no reason to take your opinions seriously... And, despite this being very rude, he isn't wrong.

What sense does it make to ignore someone whose climbed 5 tiers in favor of someone who can't get out of one? That's like ignoring your doctors advice in favor of some 19 year old science major who hasn't even gotten his papers. Its just outright stupid.

Maybe that kid might be a better doctor later on, but as of now, he is not. Do you see where it's going? Like, I'm sure you might be great player if you put in the time, but the fact is you did not or are simply unable to apply it. You can contribute art, stories, etc. just as well as anyone as it depends on other skills. But if it's game play related, nobody is going to take a bronze seriously. Just as they wouldn't for a gold or silver. Nothing personal. Bard
