every time i post something here . and even when i see other poor guys post their problems here . the people here instead of helping them or showing sympathy or at least talking politely they start blaming them for their problems without even knowing the whole story . they start judging them without even knowing the situation the guy is in or his state of mind . no wonder why the players are so toxic they dont get help from anywhere . atleast show some decency . looks like theres no one genuine here for helping others but just trolling them and making them feel worse so that they start trash talk and get punished . i havent met anyone here who is actually helping others solve their problems or being friendly and all . im disappointed .

Hello,

So what do you propose as a solution to this problem? Do you think asking the community why they are doing what they're doing is sufficient or hosting some sort of meeting would help players vent?

Yeah, it is pretty unfortunate that a lot of what you state here is often the case on a daily basis.

I will say it's not as bleak as you imagine.

But it certainly isn't a pretty sight most days either...

There's plenty of truly fine and decent folk round here though and if you hang out long enough you catch em in action.

Part of what we are attempting to do in this subboard is come up with ways to address what you consider a primary issue with your board going experience and what many others consider a primary issue as well; reduce the number of overwhelmingly negative conversations by making changes that encourage more tolerant and respectful community behavior while streamline the process of having that conversation.

If you had some recommendations on how we can encourage players to interact in a more hospitable, appropriate fashion on a regular basis how would you convince folks it's worth their time to learn to be understanding and accepting of all our other community members, even when we don't like some of them or disagree with someone about something?

A lot of it comes down to the fact that the forum is like Reddit, which is a super toxic system. Once you get one downvote, it's 1000% more likely that you'll get more of them. If you're in the negative, your thread is screwed. So many sheep in here that can't think of rational arguments, so they just downvote everything they don't like.

And then, when it comes to discussing, they don't know what to say, because they're anti-social jerks, and they lash out at everyone and everything.

I have no idea who first thought of downvotes, but it's such an oppressive system. An opinion should only be challenged by another vocal opinion.
