Report inappropriate name through the boards

Just as the title states. It's pretty rare that you come across inappropriate names, but I think there should be a function that tells Riot Support that a name should be changed.

Agreed.

You can also submit a report via the Moderation Discord in the meantime if you feel like one of the other report categories doesn't work.

If you do not want to use the Moderation Discord, you can also submit a ticket directly to support at: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

The idea for a report option on Boards is a sound one and I will pass it on as something to think about.

I think that inappropriate names is a fucking joke of a rule considering the fact that its all just posturing

If i'm playing with gaydolf, or fatcawk, or whatever, i think it's perfectly fair to just let them be them, whats the big deal?

yeah sure, I mean then again I don't share a trait with them that you do in which one arbitrary factor of a person denies them humanization in my eyes

Seriously, even a literal nazi is a human, and quite frankly i'd rather the fun elements of my game not be filtered out by poorly implemented relative moralism that is counter to my views on speech

What's appropriate or inappropriate is really up to you. If you don't want to report names, then that's up to you.

When I made this post, I had seen a player with 2 slurs in his/her name. I don't feel that belongs anywhere.

I really thought that Gaydolf was kinda clever, that it was a portmanteau of gay and Gandolf, who was played by Sir Ian McKellan, who's gay. I mean. That's clever. Someone else might look at that and say It involves Adolf and gay, nope, throw it out.

Bottom line, I get your concern, and maybe having quicker access to reporting names might mean more names are reported or that funny/edgy names that have been ok are no longer ok.

I don't like this. It's a censorship. Who should decide which name is good or not? A lot of names could be interpreted as inappropriate even if they aren't.

It's really up to Riot if they're going to censor names. I don't mind the occasional obscene/funny name, but when someone clearly went out of their way to avoid a filter with something absurdly offensive, that's what I take issue with.
