I think racist rant threads should be deleted, not just locked because they "escalated"

A racist rant is already bad enough per se and doesn't need to "escalate" to be a problem. Additionally, the level of this problem is such that I believe the proper response should be to delete these threads, not just lock them. A mild response from mods that only comes after a racist rant thread causes consternation and arguments implies that the subsequent arguments, not the racism, were the problem.

Define rasism. personally I don't agree with you.

But if rasism is: everything I disagree with. it's not a good idea. So, telling the definition of what you believe is rasism and then ask for that to be deleted would help make your point more clearly.

I still don't agree with deleting stuff but whatever.

The dictionary definition of rasism is: discrimination of others based on race. however, let's take a more relevant example: Iq, Iq is higher on average for assians than for other races. Then there's jews, then there's whites and then there's blacks. and wanting to have let's say all assians team mates means you do not want to have other races. But is that rasism or just maximizing the chances of success based on average Iq. So, without a proper definition of rasism you can't judge the case above.

I like how "racism is bad" is currently 10-6.

We have zero tolerance for actual racist comments or anything related to hate speech or racial slurs. If someone is just expressing that they don't think there are enough champions of a certain skin colour in the game and too much of another, that's more racial discussion related to League (which we monitor to make sure it doesn't trend to rule violating content), not necessarily racism.

Do you have a link to the thread you are referring to? I don't know of any recent locks that discuss racial topics.

I wholesomely agree and unfortunately happened to be one of the ones that saw that disgusting post by that disgusting human. I also argued with them in replies until they had no space left and were cornered with irrational responses so they stopped typing back. I don't mean to be judgmental but their are people that post that are genuine assholes and that need their garbage opinions to be banned from these boards.

Labeling everyone of a certain skin color with a derogatory term like "pasty" is the definition of a racial slur.

Derogatory is a matter of degree. In this case you're attempting to create an equivalence between a term that holds little to no value as a slur with terms that have centuries of racial animus slathered all over them.

I read the thread. You're focusing entirely on that one adjective to the exclusion of everything else the author wrote and that's a mistake. We would moderate "soot black champion" exactly the same way we would "pasty white", which is by analyzing the post for context and intent.

As an interesting exercise, why don't you go back to that thread and reread it, trying your best to simply ignore the one word that incenses you so. I think you'll find ideas in there worth exploring. I know I did.

I'd say it depends on the thread, like if someone is posting unadulterated hate, sure remove that as soon as you can by all means please. I didn't see the thing in question, so I don't doubt it was bad. But also there is a thin line of posts that may super offend one person but still give rise to a genuine and civil discussion, so let the mods do their thing, bc if we just instadeleted every thread we didn't like we wouldn't have a boards bc everything is offensive to someone and that's sadly just a fact of life Have a nice day! (Unless you are a dirty Teemo main) :)

So based on the subsequent comments, op was upset by a thread talking about how many characters are white? Because if that's the case, that's not racism, that's not how that works.

As a pasty white guy, there are too many pasty white champions, yes.
