Idea for Fiddlesticks Passive Change

Obviously, Fiddlesticks isn't on the list for upcoming VUs or anything but I can feel that we'll be seeing one sometime rather soon. I just had this idea for a while so it doesn't hurt to get it out there.
Edit: Since this thread is becoming more popular than I thought, I figured I should put a little more effort into the passive.

New Passive - Fear Hunter (Or something like that)
Whenever Fiddlesticks casts an ability, he summons a crow that will follow him (capped at 5). When an enemy champion gets within range, a crow will fly to the target, reducing their magic resist for 8 seconds when they collide. Champions are immune to further crow attacks while their magic resistance is reduced.

New Passive - Fear Hunter (Or something like that)
Whenever Fiddlesticks is out of combat for X seconds, he summons a crow every X seconds that follow him. Whenever an enemy champion gets within X range of Fiddlesticks, a crow will fly to the target, reducing their magic resist by X and marking them with Fear Hunter for X seconds. Fearing targets marked with Fear Hunter increase the duration by X seconds.

Just an idea for something. It still stays in line with Fiddle's current passive which is useful to him so I didn't want to take that way from him. I just wanted to make it more... interesting? Interactive? Yes, those words work. Anywho, got my idea out there so I'm happy. Yay!

Some issues with this. The best case scenario has this functioning basically identically to his current passive, albeit with probably higher numbers. If Fiddles has a murder of crows, there's no gameplay to the passive. And in most cases (Fiddles appearing out of the jungle to gank, Fiddles flanking a team with his ult), he should have a full charge.

This also has the downside of forcing Fiddles to spam his spells, even when more strategic use would be desired. Especially for support Fiddles, it's not always advantageous or even possible to use his spells. Support Fiddles, always having two targets near, would have a very hard time keeping charges up for actual engages.

The travel time of the crow is another issue. Fiddles's W and R hit instantaneously for the first tick of damage, and E has a decently fast particle. Fiddles would ult into range of his passive, use E and W... and a bit of that damage would be unenhanced by his passive. This would lead to some really counterintuitive gameplay patterns to maximize his damage, something Riot would probably want to avoid.

I certainly agree that he could use a more interesting passive, and maybe even a rework. His passive and Q have a lot of power tied up in relatively uninteresting ways, and his E is just weird by modern design standards.

Love it, I honestly do think its fair since its temporary yet the passive now you need to be really close for it to trigger, and it goes away right when they walk out of range... So yeah, fair, cool idea, would make fiddlesticks for fun <3 Like for you!

TBH, I was about to come in here to bash any idea of changing Fiddlestick's passive (because, you know - I'm a Fiddles main, I've played over 150 games with him from last season and this season, yaddayadda), but I actually like the sound of this. >:3

I think the crow should do small percent damage buff and minor slow to enemy champions, capped at 5 crows spawning every spell cast. I think it should last 5 seconds.

Fiddlesticks' fear lasts 2.25 seconds at level 5. This already allows him to get his full R-Q-E-W combo off. Adding to the fear duration, which is extremely long, would make him overpowered.

If he can get his full combo off with the fear duration he has now, would it really be balanced if he could do this and then get his silence off again?

Does he honestly need to be this powerful, even when he can hold his own as he is now?
