@IronStylus, about the Cho'Gath VU: How to make his anatomy to support his Rupture

Hello, and thanks to everyone reading this. I really got myself hyped, when i red the discussions about Cho'Gath's VU (maximum scope creep potential, kaiju -like, and an actual evolution/body transformation when getting Feast stacks). A question that has raised was also to make his anatomy to support his skillset (a la Kha'Zix). The only skill i found problematic to be supported by Cho'Gath's body, is his Rupture. But since days an idea came into mind: tentacles. So, here's how the idea shall work: a hatch on Cho'Gath's back may open, releasing the tentacles; the tentacles then submerge themselves into the ground, and, when the tentacles come up to the targeted location, they become rigid (or at least their tips do), working as the live Rupture does. (Update) Talking with L7xLoTek, it was clear thet this concept had critical flaws in terms of animations. So this is how it will change (still thanks to L7xLoTek for sharing the idea): instead of tentacles, "worm-looking" objects exit from the hatch on Cho's back, get under the terrain, emerge from it knocking up and slowing the enemies. After doing so, these "worms" die, becuase they shouldn't be more than Cho appendages getting alive to succeed in ther only quest.

Another idea i got recently, changes the nature of the live Rupture: why not make Cho'Gath to shoot an energy beam/sphere from his mouth? This has been a key characteristic of kaijus and such(form Godzilla, to some kaiju from Pacific Rim, if i remember well). In particular:

  • both ray/sphere windup animation could be the same, as in, a light charging in his mouth, or some region of his body glowing from the and end to his mouth;

  • the beam explodes on the targeted location, working as on live, and not dealing damage to the units crossed by the beam;

  • the sphere would work as a Galio Q, but affects enemies in its AoE as live Rupture.

And that's it. I really hope to have a nice discussion. Sorry for my bad English, and still thank to everyone who's reading this! Best Regards, EnolaGay45

Thats a really good idea, but since Vel'Koz, also from the void, has tentacles would it be better to distance Cho'Gath and use something along the lines spikes along his spine dropping back in and a stomp?

Also, Mecha Aatrox, Mecha Malphite, Mecha Kha'zix vs Kaiju Cho'gath, Kaiju Karma, and Kaiju Nocturne :D

You can rarely go wrong with tentacles, but in this case, wouldn't it be a problem that Cho can move after casting the rupture? That is, you kinda need to make, whatever it is, something that completely detaches from Cho or deal with really weird graphical gliches on manual or forced movement (f.e. Thresh lantern, Alistar or just plain walking).
