Dragon Slayer 5th missing...

Now... We all know about the 4 dragon slayers: Braum, Vayne, J4, and Mantheon. But who is the 5th and final addition to this amazing skin line? Well, Im here to discuss and mayhaps convince Riot of why the last addition to the Dragon Slayers needs to be: Ryze Okay lets start off with the facts shall we?

** Too much AD!!** Out of the 4 Dragon Slayers we see... How many of them use magic as a source of fighting back? Anyone? There is a missing link here and I am going to try and convince you why Ryze can fill it.

  1. Closer range than most mages Ryze is not afraid to get into the fray and light up some booty. Ryze has some short range but makes up for it in devastating AOE damage and some CC

  2. Ryze can tank! There are many mages out there who can stay in the back and pew pew but when it comes to Ryze, he not only comes in to crap everything, but he can do so while taking one hell of a beating if built accordingly. This portrays a key aspect to becoming one of the Dragon Slayers! They all know they will be battered and bruised while fighting but will take the hits and continue fighting. EX: Imagine a Dragon Slayer Lux... It Doesent really fit the whole image of what they are about.

  3. Popularity Ryze players have started to drift towards more mobile assassin-type mages and have need some incentive to come back to Ryze. He is by no means underpowered, he just needs a nice skin to make all the "Nay sayers" say "Hay" again.

  4. Animations Lets face it, a guy like Ryze chucking lightning bolts at enemies and watching it spread to their allies is very amusing to watch, but what if (just stick with me here!), what if Ryze were to harness the power of the Dragons somehow? What if he was chosen to take down these Dragons with their own flames. Everyone knows Dragonfire is much more intense than any old regular fire. Imagine a Ryze with perfectly crafted dragon scale tunics launching Fireballs of doom to all of his enemies. Sounds a bit like Brand i'll admit but Ryze spreading Dragonfire seems like it would work just as easily as the ability to spread lightning.

P.S. I'm actually curious to hear what other players think about this and I am open to all the negative (and maybe positive) feedback. I haven't really talked to anyone else about this idea of mine so shoot away at all the plot holes :D

I agree that they need to develop a 5th Champion as a Dragonslayer, and it should be mid capable, definitely AP champ. But I disagree with your arguments.

  1. If we are looking for closer range, I think an assassin would be a better choice, such as Katarina. There is definite potential for an awesome Kat Dragonslayer skin.

2)Why does it have to be a tanky mage? There is plenty of tank in the line up already with J4, Braum, and Panth. Someone a little squishier might be a good idea.

  1. There are plenty of popular champions, although Ryze isnt exactly a popular mid choice. He has become more of a popular top choice, but top is not necessary with J4 and Panth there.

  2. Any champ could have some of the coolest animations with these skins. Fireballs would be cool, but there are plenty in league already with Brand and Shyvana among whoever else.

Personally. My favourite choices would be Katarina or Nidalee. There seems to be a spear trend for Nidalee to follow, and you could definitely do some cool things with Kats armor and daggers.

Sorry if it sounds like I picked you apart. Ive given this thought as well haha.

Added: I forgot to mention that all the DragonSlayers are Human as of right now too. Ryze isnt. Which further supports Kat or Nid

My personal conspiracy theory is that they will turn the dragon master swain concept in to dragon slayer swain, or that the dragonslayers are a build up to the release of dragon master swain

What about a dragon slayer irelia? She hasnt had a skin in a while and she brings in the ionian faction to the group. I know shes no mage, but the thing with mages is that dragons are highly magic creatures and magic(in most lore with dragons) generally doesnt work too well on them. Just my thoughts.

I would think Dragons are impervious to magic. At least from my limited knowledge of common mythology of dragons and their relatives.

No it has to be Brand, because reasons. I don't even like Brand but we better have a Fire Dragon Slayer.

I suggested Lux in another thread, due to the fact that she's actually already wearing armor, unlike most other mages in the game, and also because that'd give us a second female dragonslayer. I did list Ryze as a possible secondary choice.

I'd like a Dragonslayer Karma . She tries to keep balance and the influx of "evil" dragons creates an imbalance - there's no Ao Shin yet to counteract emergence of these western dragons. And she could use a new skin period. Then there's the fact that each dragon slayer is currently associated with a "good" faction. Demacian, Avarosan and Mt Targon (more neutral...) - the first two being allies. Karma represents the "good" side of Ionia to match the "good" alignment of the dragonslayers. Though I'm honestly not sure if she's mostly played mid atm... (I like her mid...)

I would really like a dragonslayer Lux , but I imagine people would get angry that she'd get another non-cutesy skin...
