Thoughts on changing Viktor, The Machine Herald

I've been thinking about it, and Viktor is honestly a pretty sweet champ. With a few small changes in his kit, and I think he could be super viable/popular again. What ya think?? - Meowmix86

  1. His ultimate, as cool as it is, sucks when the enemy can just outrun it. Let's make it a combination of heim and nasus' ult perhaps? Viktor turns into something basically like the iron giant, becomes harder to kill and gets one boosted QWE like heimer. For example, E= Giant laser beam, W= Huge stun radius/slow, Q= multiple target power transfer + large shield.

  2. His passive. I honestly only see people use augment death, so lets just make that his permanent starting passive. +0 starting, then +5 AP/+1.5% additional magic damage per level. That way he has the ability to use a SIXTH ITEM, which I believe is very important.

Honestly I want to keep the augments. Of course I usually build Death, but when I'm behind, Power, or even Gravity can be very helpful. What I would like to see is giving his Hex Core the Rengar treatment. Make it a trinket Riot.

I think his ultimate's in a great spot right now- it has a lot of applications, from the end to a burst combo to a contribution to a teamfight even after he's died.

(That and his BEHOLD when he casts his ult is too cool)

In regards to his passive, I think it would work as is, except for the introduction of build paths for tier 2 augments.

For example:

You could build Augment Death into Augment Death 2.0 by combining it with a needlessly large rod, Augment Gravity 2.0 by combining it with a Forbidden Idol and a Chalice of Harmony, or Augment Power with an Aether Wisp and an Amplifying Tome. That way you have a way to scale your passive into the late game, while still keeping the concept of a unique item for Viktor with build paths that can vary from game to game. (Also introduce Viktor into other roles for versatility, like AP Bruiser Viktor with reliable shields from his Q, or support Viktor with improved utility on his gravity well.)

Tell me what you guys think about this idea!

The major problem i see with Viktor is that he is crippled by 2 things both from the same source, His Augment.

First you HAVE to have it as an item. You can't get away without it. While is does upgrade and it does provide a bit of AP it really isn't that amazing an item. I feel like if Riot made it optional to get that it would take the Rengar necklace before it was a trinket in being almost never used.

Second stems off the first not only is that item mandatory, but it is also considered his PASSIVE. SO his passive is an item that he has to have....

In reality Viktor needs to either have the augment either removed as an item or given a real passive to compensate for having to use a specific item. THis is the double whammy that hurts him so much and leaves him out of the viable tier.

i love the idea of the whole "Iron Giant" mechanic, id LOVE that to be his ultimate, for viktor is my main mid, my name even used to be Lord Viktor. And for someone who has mained viktor i love this idea.

I want so badly for Viktor to become viable. It's just so clunky playing him because his abilities dont chain together all that well. He just needs a bit of extra oomph.

tbh i think Viktor's only few issues is that for one his kit lacks fluency. On other mages (i.e. Ahri Annie Syndra Lux), you can see how thier abilities can and should be combo'd and dropping all of your abilities on opponent to kill them is done very fluently. It could just be me, but it doesn't feel that way with Viktor he feels very choppy and as if his kit was made from abilities pulled from 4 other champions thematically re-made into the Viktor we have no. not only that, he's as slow as molasses, i mean i know mages all have slower movement but he feels so much slower for some reason. His third problem is too much of his power is focused in his E, item 3198 is like the only REAL option imo. Viktor could use a rework in my opinion
