Malzahar's "R" not working

So i have been playing today and in multiple games i have had an issue where i hit my "R" key for my ult, but before i even click a champion it starts cooldown. This has happened many times today in multiple games, sometimes it works, but others it does not. It usually happens after I use my "W" and then my "R". ANyone else notice this issue??
