Major Client Issues on Mac

I've been having this issue recently, where at times the client following extended periods of sleep mode or sometimes even directly after the conclusion of a game, will experience a "connection" issue and crash. Following this crash, the client is essentially broken. It begins bouncing on the dock indefinitely, and when I can finally manage to get it (randomly) to the login screen, it begins authorization and never finishes. It's frustrating because it can take an hour of restarting my computer for it to log back in. Thoughts?
