Why can you not view characters (such as Japanese or Chinese) in the English client but...?

You can see all languages in other clients? Why?

Seeing boxes whether as names or in chat is no fun.

If you're concerned with the names being in different languages, I can see that, but it seems pretty simple to be able to let players read and communicate in the other languages, no matter which client.
