Died after Nexus was destroyed adding 1 death to my kill count and 1 kill/assist to involved enemies

Played an Intermediate Bot game. After using Zhonya's hourglass on the spawn pad with the laser we won while I was golden. After coming out of Zhonya's item ability I was attacked by the bots on the span pad and killed. I checked the score screen and saw I had an extra death and I assume my killer has an extra kill and any enemy champ who attacked me has an extra assist. This end of game showboating has been done many times with no additional damage taken while on the pad, but in this case I took enough damage to die after the game had ended. This scenario is different in outcome than many similar scenarios that have been done on youtube, in pro games etc. Would like to know why it is different now.
