Unable to connect to games

This only start to happen this patch and so far its only happened twice but getting leavers penalty for something that i can't control is stupid

What happens is that everything seems normal until the game goes to start up the league client never pops up so the loading screen never appears I click on the league icon and it brings me to the game is in progress screen but their is no reconnect button and even restarting the client doesn't solve it and i have to wait till my team remakes to even be able to do anything.

My laptop is a potato for the most part don't get me wrong it runs league pretty well so I'm not exactly sure what this is and I'm afraid to go into games if all i get is a leavers penalty.
