Ascension Causes FPS Drops

Ever since the client update, or about a while after it, Ascension has been extremely laggy and freezes very often for me as well as a few of my friends. When playing Ascension, the ping would stay at a constant, but the fps would drop to the single digits, where i would usually play at a 40-60 fps on my potato computer. This happens to me and my friend with decent laptops, where an online friend of mine with a gaming laptop would experience it as well. Not sure what the cause may be, but i love playing ascension as do my friends, and would love to play it without constant freezing.
