Recall keep going?

last game I play in I seen was recalling and use his Q Razor Shuriken. hit him easily but didn't stop the recall. I don't know if Way of the wanderer passive shield stop the Razor shuriken so the recall can keep going. But I if I remember right even with a shield on you even if it block all damage it should stop a recall. or maybe it was a bug with the Razor Shuriken.

If you still have a shield available, the enemy can't stop the recall unless they destroy the shield and deal more damage.

also within the last 0.5? seconds you can't be interrupted any more
