Can't open rune pages, have to restart client

Rune pages won't open in collection or champ select. The only thing that appears is an X at the top right. I've had this multiple times today alone, the only way that has worked to fix this is to completely restart league. This is awful because I get screwed over in champ select and have to select runes that are not made for that champion. My friends have also had this bug and have lost games due to not being able to change runes.

I can confirm this bug. I don't know what caused it but this is also what happened to me.

Same has been happening to me. I can't open the rune page in champ select, and I can't lock my champion pick, making me leave sometimes. It's really annoying

just happened to me. i was working on changing my page when it happened but same thing; no way to interact with the pages, just the X option.

I've dodged twice cause of this bug (as to not screw over my teammates). If anyone figures out how to fix it, hit me up (or post it :P). In the meanwhile I would suggest making rune pages before entering a match.

Just happened to me second time today. I'm pretty lazy, so I'm just going to play a different game now rather than go through this between every game.

Here because it happened again to me today, no picture evidence this time because i felt i ought to dodge - will try to capture next time.

Description of rune menu appearance (day of post):

today it was slightly 'prettier' than before; the rune drop-menu box was outlined in red and [may have] had an exclamation point icon.
when hovered, a message is displayed assuming my account hasn't reached level 8 yet, telling me that once i do, i'll be able to use more than just the preset pages. (my account is around lvl 92 at time of this post)

Much Love & would appreciate advice, current suspicions hint at 'package-loss-esque' things that i also experience upon client startup. However, noticed today that the " client > collection > runes " menu didn't load before i entered a game today, other menus did. Does this mean that sometimes, perhaps whilst some menus are being fixed/edited/updated, the package-loss or [whichever] connectivity issue, becomes a bigger issue dependant on that time?
