I can't send a friend an emote gift

I've read several rito comments saying "yes you can gift your friend emotes". But when i got to gifting center and pick his name, I have no such option. It consists of "Purchase RP" "send Hextech Crafting gift" "Unlock a Mystery Skin" "Unlock mystery skin worth at least 975 RP" "Unlock a Mystery Champion" "Unlock a Skin" "Unlock a Champion" "Unlock Icon" "Unlock Ward Skin" and "Unlock Rune Page". None of these give you the option to send an emote.
