Freezing at start of game

Hello, I was starting to play two games a few minutes ago. Everything was normal as I logged in, queued, and prepared for the match in champion select. However, during the loading screen everyone's portraits loaded really slowly, and the game suddenly started without anyone reaching 100%. In my Shen game, the screen froze and I couldn't do anything at all (not even alt+tab), so I had to restart my computer. In my second game, I had a few seconds to level up an ability and buy items, but it froze again.

I'm not sure what the problem is. My internet connection is stable before, during, and after the freeze. My computer is fairly new and never had problems before (a HP 15 TS Notebook PC). I'm suspecting that it may have to do with the Windows 10 update that took a long time today.

If anyone is experiencing the same problems or knows what to do next, please inform me. Thank you.

EDIT: I can't change the title now, but this problem is related to the Windows 10 Update for sure.

My computer just updated Windows 10 last night. I've lost 40 lp due to remakes. I tried reverting the Windows update but it still hasn't worked. It is definitely the Windows update.

I contacted riot and they helped me fix it by turning off the windows 10 "game bar". A tutorial as to how to turn off the game bar is [Here]. It worked for me and now I can play league again without it freezing. http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8637-game-bar-turn-off-windows-10-a.html

Same exact problem. It must be from the Windows 10 update, because I found a way to uninstall latest windows update, but when i go to play it says i needed the latest version of direct X, which come with the Windows 10 update, so I'm basically stuck. Please help us riot I havent played since friday.

Same exact problem here. All the same details as you (except my comp is an hp envy), but I'll include specifics in case they're helpful.

Tried 3 games, all three loaded in slowly. The third one crashed while I was loading in, so I sent a bugsplat report and reconnected. Every time, I would connect for a few seconds, just enough to buy an item or two, and then my computer would freeze (mouse unresponsive, cannot alt tab or ctrl alt delete, audio gone) and I would have to shut down. This has only happened since the windows update earlier this week.

This is the only thread that I could find about this bug, so I assume it's not affecting very many people.

I'm having the same problem, everything loads really smooth but the second i get into a game it automatically freezes and crashes on me forcing me to shut down the laptop completely. But this only happened after the new windows update, which one is the problem the game or the update

Same here dude, I have that exact problem I think it does have something to do with windows 10 because my old laptop running windows 7 worked I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still seems to freeze also! it only freezes while league is open can do everything else as normal

P.S It's 3 am and I still can't fix it

Edit: I too had this happen after a windows update

guys i had the same problem and i fixed with this way. (http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8637-game-bar-turn-off-windows-10-a.html) its a problen with xbox app and cause the game freeze.

Diddo, All started right after the windows update last week. Wouldn't open the client due to pvp.net error, run as admin to open, froze at the start of a match. Reverted back to an earlier version of windows to undo the update, which fixed my pvp.net problem, but I am still freezing at the beginning of a match. I have never had that problem before and have been playing for 2 and half years. Not sure what the problem is but its basically going to make me have to quit. Really wish someone would help us out here.

I had this problem and it went away..but now its back because i reinstalled windows 10.....i m not sure how it went away at first time tho...at that time i did repairs, reinstalling game, changing my network to private, tried using hextech repair tool by riot games, and updating windows if there was 1.

I think if you goto properties of league of legends and change windows 10 things to windows 8 it fixes it....something like that. ..good luck

I have the same issue. Even though I had Window 10 it wasnt crashijg. It started in preseason 9. Every once a while the game crashes in around forsy fee minutes. I have to restart the pc.

I am having the same issue. This started happening after I did that long Windows update. I have emailed Riot letting them know that theres a problem. In the mean time I have done everything imaginable to fix it and nothing has worked.

I'm having the exact same issue here guys, although I was using windows 10 perfectly fine, until the newest windows 10 update it just completely freezes when I enter the rift. I hope riot sees this and fixes it soon...
